Jane and I decided to go some place new in the neighborhood and had walked past Quatorze a few times, this time we stopped in. What fun! "Dr. Jim" (our name for him) the bartender new greeted us as old friends and had no problem getting fresh mint for Jane's Perfect Manhattan. The older crowd takes away the seen and be seen aspect and the food.....oh my gosh.....the food is so comfortable and good and is ALWAYS.....good. We had oysters the first time.....and then one evening on the specials menu was a charcuterie tasting plate that had a foie gras that I wanted to bury my face in.....sooooo good! Always a crisp white wine or a lovely red.....on special at a great price. And you would love the decor with the great reproductions of french travel posters etc....the long and short of it is that we walk past the wonderful place no more....we walk right inside.
