I've been eating sushi at this restaurant since 1985 when it was called Asakusa and was under entirely different ownership, so I've seen it through many incarnations. Today the place is probably as could as it's ever been. The head chef Takashi is truly a master. The fish is always high quality, service always friendly and prompt, and the prices reasonable. Typically I don't eat many rolls, but my favorite menu item has become Takashi's own creation Caribe roll. It's a must try. It's a spicy Hamachi with mango combination that has a truly unique and satisfying taste. I do wish they allowed Takashi full range in purchasing the fish however.. They often don't have Uni or Otoro, and at times the Maguro and Tako seem a half-step down in quality in comparison to Tsunami in Sugarhouse. Regardless, I never leave this restaurant without a smile on my face.
