I purchased a house that had a rented softener from Total Water. The previous owner had made enough payments to pay off the unit but never had the unit switched over to their name. I got the unfortunate opportunity to work with one of their salesmen Ed, who wrote me the "best deal ever" for a unit that was at least 3 years old, but it was probably older since they were able to provide me any proof other some hand written document. There goes $500.
I was given the option to lease for a few months, but I was so sick of dealing with them that I bypassed and purchased the unit outright. Of course the unit has an error code 7 months later.
Pretty disgusted with the service and the way I was treated. Look somewhere else for your water softener needs.
