Khow Thai consistently offers the best Thai food around. Owners Larry and Toi give the place a local flavor and it's an easy option for take away. Frankly said, I'd put this place against any in the mid-west. I strongly recommend the Pad Ma Kour & Pad Khing for those that want strong flavors. The option for brown rice gives patrons a healthy option and the free soup is always a welcomed bonus.
A easy measure of a great Thai restaurant is a curry dish that doesn't have coconut milk -- go for the Gaeng Paa (jungle) curry if you want to test my theory.
One word of warning -- be careful of the Thai hot option as it's seriously fire hot, even for someone that prides themselves on loving heat.
After traveling the world, I'd still put Khow Thai in the top 2 Thai restaurants I've ever dined with....top 2 of more than 500.
