Tulsa Zoo & Living Museum 8/23/2006

True...the train has never gone by the animals and needs to be rerouted, so to speak, to go through the actual zoo instead of around it. But it is something that children enjoy no matter what, especially going through the tunnel. The zoo itself is great to take the kids out for a few hours of fun & learning. So while it's not the best Oklahoma has to offer it's good to go every once in awhile. more

Fabulous Learning and Fun! 4/15/2006

My mother has pictures of me at the Tulsa Zoo, when I was about two years old, drinking from the water fountain that is shaped like an open lion's mouth. I have the exact same pictures of my little ones! The Tulsa Zoo is another of those places that becomes a tradition. It is a wonderful tradition to start with your family, if you haven't already. They really encourage a day of true quality time with your children and loved ones. The Tulsa Zoo is very well organized, and they definitely have impressive displays, which they are expanding all the time. They offer gift shops, which aren't too outrageous in price, as well as pit stops along the way to get something cold to drink or something to eat. One of the favorite offerings of my youngest son is the train that you can ride around the interior gates of the zoo! Very cute and fun! Another really cool thing is that the zoo is located inside Mohawk Park, which makes it even easier to plan for an entire day of fun. My family often enjoys a picnic in the park, either before, or after our zoo adventures. If you're looking for a quality family oriented attraction, the Tulsa Zoo is a sure bet! more

Tulsa zoo serves as a medium sized zoo in terms of the area that it occupies, but it does not come near to that when it comes to the number of species that they have got. I was disappointed because basically we did not see much. In addition to that one would expect the zoo train at least to pass by some of the animals. We got on the train with was several bucks and right after we got onto it, the journey was finished, it hardly took several minutes. So, it basically takes you where your car is parked other than a ride along the animals. more
