This is a solid sports bar. Nothing more and nothing less. And that's a good thing. Too often you get sports bars that try to be trendy or hip bars along with being sports bars. The combination just never seems to work out right. Sluggers sticks to one thing and they do it well. Sluggers has plenty of bar or table seating and a good array of TVs to keep you up to date on the sports happenings. Plus, they seem to be good about keeping those cheesy extreme sports or bland talk shows off the screens. The beer selection is good with prices that won't break your wallet. There's also a decent selection of food from the small grill. The one drawback may be its location. Sluggers is located in a mall complex across from Kingsgate Ice Arena but other then that there isn't much around. The crowds can be rather sparse at times. Your call on whether this is good or bad. One final thing, if you go to Sluggers be sure to order the popcorn chicken. This is the ideal side to a nice pint or pitcher of beer.
