This place has been great every time I've been there. Last week (05-13-05) the lower deck was being remodeled and therefore closed, but surprisingly the place wasn't too crowded upstairs.
The view and open-air rooftop dancing are the main draws - as the lead review says it's nearly 360 degrees and spectacular - but not all. I despise rap but realize you can't avoid it if you want to be in a nightclub, but the stuff the VL DJ was playing was only juvenile about half the time. The live band inside - amazing just for the fact of being there, were actually very good. The drinks are OK too (hey, after Tiki-Ti on Sunset in LA *nothing* compares,) and the staff are great. There's even a "Cocktail" bottle juggler among them.
Getting in is easy if you get there before 9PM or so, even on weekends. Highly recommended.
Pros: Awe-inspiring view, Open-Air Dance Floors, Sleaze-free doormen
Cons: So-so drinks, Rap/Hip-Hop-trendy, Need some Rock!
