Thanks for all the time and help! 10/27/2010

I was new to the area and did not know where to go. My neighbor recommended this practice and I will be forever greatful! They were caring and loving. They helped me get my medications and helped me find a good specialist in town. My neighbor has gone there for years and she was right! I will never go anywhere else! more

Terrible Customer Service 6/8/2010

The only thing the employees are good at are transferring you to a voicemail. Good luck with getting your call returned. With luck, your call is going to be answered by a woman at the front desk named Rachel, who will cut you off mid-sentence several times. After you have tried to explain why you need an appointment several times, you STILL cannot get a time-slot or someone to return your call because everything has to be ""pre-approved by a nurse"". I have been going to them for years and that has been too long. The initial doctor told me to lose 10 more pounds after I had already lost over 100 pounds and the nurse practitioner prescribed me medication that placed me in the hospital with a massive ulcerative bleed after she promised me it was safe for my stomach! This practice has left me soured and frustrated and wondering what happened to the days when doctors actually cared about their Hippocratic Oath. more

Great Listeners 10/5/2009

I've been going through a difficult time recently. Found she took time to listen to my concerns. She went out of her way to offer and investigate option to help me during my stressful time. She even called me to make sure I was following through as I should. She seemed to really care about my health physically and emotionally. I have decided to refer my neighbors and coworkers. Pros: Great listeners, Convenient location. Cons: hidden location, difficult to get a physical within 30 days. more

Extremely Poor Healthcare 8/23/2009

This group is not up on medicine, treatments, clinical studies or just about anything except how to collect your money. After three visits which I had to pay for three times, they still could not figure out how to treat me. One NNP is rude, nasty and defensive and constantly tells you how educated she is but can't offer any serious help or treatment. The MD talks more about her problems instead of addressing the patient's. Pros: CNA's and office staff are nice. Cons: Rude, Lazy, Unprofessional, Confused, All About The Money more

Good practice 8/10/2009

The doctors currently at Preston Medical are wonderful. I recently had to move my dad to the area for medical reasons. The doctors at PM have been extremely attentive to his needs...and have done a very good job of counceling me on how best to deal with him as well. The doctors there have always been caring and very good listeners. Pros: Caring doctors Cons: Must ASK for a doctor or you'll see a PA more

Terrible - the worst I have ever experienced 7/20/2009

New to the area so didn't know who to go to. I have been a patient for about four or five weeks now and so far...It took over four days to get a prescription refilled because the nurse clearly did not want to bother. Then after seeing the PA, I had the wrong Rx faxed in to the pharmacy under a generic name a prescription I already currently take (which I did not need a refil on) , causing me to take 2 - 3 times the prescribed amount of this medication - thinking it was a new med that WAS supposed to be faxed in. (so that one I was not getting). I called to try and talk to someone to report the error, the nurse tried to make excuses and didn't seem to understand the problem then said she would have the PA get back to me. When I didn't hear from the PA by the end of the day, I called again and instead of the receptionist getting up and at least checking with the nurse, she just put me right back into the voice prompt system that I heard before getting to her! When I finally did hear back, (they then blamed it on the pharmacy but the pharmacy could not have gotten the prescription unless it came from them.) Right now I have been waiting for over a week to hear back regarding an appointment which they are supposed to be setting with an oncologist in the area - I am an ongoing cancer patient and one of my tests came out above normal. Clearly these people either do not realize or do not care that they have peoples lives in their hands. I have encountered better customer service at a fast food restaurant. I will be finding a new primary care/family physician. PS - never saw a Dr. there.. Cons: i would have given 0 stars if it was an option more

Recommended by a Friend....Good choice for a family practice. 1/7/2009

New to the area I took the advice of a friend. I called for my coughing that I had since Thanksgiving. I got an appointment on that day. The office staff was nice and seemed caring. The office was a little hard to find at the bottom of the parking lot. They gave me ideas of dentists and eye doctors in the area. I did not wait long for the doctor. She was thorough and quick. I'll be back with my family. Pros: Pretty office, Parking, Nice Doctor. Cons: Directions. Busy waiting room. more

Great Family Practice! 12/31/2008

Great family practice. Offered me an appointment for my back pain the same day I called. They even called to see how I was doing the next day. They offered to fax my prescription to my pharmacy. That saved me alot of time and pain. Pros: Considerate, parking, same day appointment more

leaves a lot to be desired 8/7/2008

My whole family and I have been coming here for about two years. My mother didn't have high cholesterol, but her values were a little bit higher than before. The receptionist called to tell her the results and made it sound like she was going to die any minute. My mother was panicked for days until her follow-up appointment, where her doctor told her that the numbers were nothing to be worried about, they were not even significantly higher than before, and that she should just try taking fish oil pills for a while to bring them back down. As for me, the receptionists have always been rude. I wanted to switch my doctor and the receptionist almost wouldn't let me! The doctor I see now there is great, but the office staff is terrible. Furthermore, every time I go in, I only wait a minute or two in the waiting room but then they leave me in the exam room forever. Last time I waited for 45 minutes before my doctor came in! I'd rather wait in the waiting room where I can at least read a magazine! Finally, my previous doctor there never seemed to be able to help me- which is why I switched. I came in with chronic migraines that persisted for weeks and she had me take an eye exam, told me my vision was 20/20 (it's not), and sent me home. Thanks for nothing! Pros: my doctor is friendly, straightforward, and helpful. Cons: office staff is awful, and wait time is terrible. more

Best small Family medical office! 11/14/2007

We all know Cary is expanding, and lots of people are moving in from all over the country. If you want to be treated well, and still want that friendly staff that understand your needs, and tries their best to make your visit go smoothly - Preston Medical is the place to go! I was able to schedule an appointment for the same week, and the doctor was very professional. They respect your privacy, and listen attentively to your issues/problems to help you find the solution. They can't cure what they don't know. I never have to go back for the same issues. If you are looking for a primary care physician in the Cary area, I highly recommended them! I have never been let down yet, and hopefully will stay that way! Pros: Parking; Staff that respects your privacy; attentive, friendly MD/FNP/staff; ease of scheduling appointments. Cons: None! more

Poor customer service, lack of integrity 11/12/2007

This clinic was a huge disappointment. The office staff is extremely unprofessional and rude. I initially questioned the judgement of the professional staff and owner that they would keep such poor mannered staff, then I found out the ""professional staff"" is just as bad. Goes to show that appearance and neighborhood are no guarantee of level of service. I'm glad I left. I don't know how they stay in business! Cons: office staff, lack of professionalism from top down more

Just OK 10/18/2007

I have been going there for 2 years. Just changed over to new doctor at a different family practice. I have never seen a doctor here. Always Nurse Practitioner Peacock, who is extremely nice. However, they have never followed through with testing for cholesterol, etc. They always tell me they will call and schedule, and Never do. Back office people, like receptionists are RUDE and not friendly. Plus, they say your address and insurance info loud enough for the entire waiting room to hear when asking to confirm information. I kept going back because I did like Nurse Peacock, but the overall attitudes from the office staff has made me change doctors. I just stay quiet and comply with their requests. On a side note, I never feel/felt my health problems are diagnosed. AND NO I am not a hypochonriac. I only go to the doctor once a year. but am concerned about my cholesterol. Try another doctor before resorting to this place. Or grin and bear it Pros: location, parking Cons: receptionist staff, wait time can be a little extensive more

Busy, but good 9/8/2006

This doctor knows his stuff. He's often in the emergency room at Wake Med. I never saw a guy move so fast, but still get it right. Can't complain about him, he saved my mother's life.\r So, yeah, I recommend him. Don't know much about his office. It's a pretty big organization. more

Not for seriously ill people 6/15/2006

The doctor is ok. She accepts medicare. But on several occasions, one day after visiting her, my relative was hospitalized NEAR DEATH with serious problems that this doc missed,... simple things like Pneumonia, or very low bloodpressure. Sometimes it seems that this doc does not recognize a problem until a hospital Emergency Room tells her about it. Pros: the parking lot Cons: health care more
