$1 Movies with Endless Popcorn! 8/17/2005

How can it get any better than $1 for a movie - how about endless popcorn? This small, but otherwise cosy cinema features 4-5 movies that are just off the silver screen, but pre-DVD and are available to students with thier student ID's for $1 (otherwise $1.50). Endless popcorn is available from the concession stands for ~$5.00, and they even have flavorings that can be put on the popcorn. more

Great Dollar Theatre 8/11/2005

This is a great little dollar theatre. It shows movies that are a little older and not in the bigger theatres any longer. The best part of this theatre is that it is generally less busy than it's main competition, Movies 8. The main negative part of this theatre is that it is generally not as clean as more expensive theatres tend to be. This is a great theatre to take a group of kids, or great for a cheap date. more

Great for a cheap date or a night out with the whole family! 8/7/2005

I remember visiting this location many years ago when it was a "first run" theater. When it opened as a "$1.50 theater" we just had to check it out and we loved it! It is not nearly as crowded as other discount theaters in the area. You don't have to wait in long lines to get in and you don't have a bunch of teenagers running around the theater and talking through the movie. It is much more family-oriented and they even have a "summer movie camp" in the summer months. There will probably be some stickiness on the floors, but what do you expect for the price you pay? And again, it's much cleaner than other similar locations in the area. If you're a student or you go before 6 p.m., you only have to pay $1. It's a definite bargain! more

See your second run movies here! 8/1/2005

I live in a college town, with a lot of poor students around. University Mall Cinema is the place I prefer to go to see movies. They show movies that have finished their run in the regular priced movie theater. Costs are $1 for children, seniors, and students, and $1.50 otherwise. The movie theaters are usually much cleaner than at other theaters, and I also found the food prices to be quite cheaper than the usual $3 for a small candy box or such. Yes, they only have 4 screens, and you do have to wait a few weeks, but I find I am just fine with that for 90% of the movies anyways. It's much cheaper for a date this way! I like it better than Movies 8. more

A great place to see movies. 7/14/2005

When movie ticket prices are soaring at the big theaters, it's great to be able to see a movie in the theater for only $1. Ticket prices are $1 during the day, $1.50 in the evenings. Special prices for students. Tuesday is a great deal, all movies are only 50 cents. This theater shows the movies after they are done at the expensive ($7.50) theater and before they come out on video. An inexpensive way to see these movies on the big screen. Makes an inexpensive date night. This is where I always take my kids to see movies. It's just not worth the $15.00 to take them to the brand new movies. We can wait a couple weeks and save a bundle. They also offer a Free Kid's Summer Movie program with a different movie each week. Kids 12 and under are free, all others are $1.00. They have a special snack bar combo: Popcorn & Drink for $1.00...what a deal! The theater is nice and taken care of. It used to be a full price theater. I remember going to it as a teenager. There are 4 screens, but is much less crowded than Movies 8 and the sound system is better. more
