The Heart Lung Vascular Institute was established in the year 2000 to focus care on our nation's biggest health problem, cardiovascular disease. Because cardiopulmonary systems are independent and share common etiologies and risk factors, an integrated, multidisciplinary center to include patients with lung disease as well as heart and vascular problems was created. The Heart Lung Vascular Institute brings together expertise in clinical care, teaching and research.
