Trojan Horse is Excellent! 8/21/2011

We live over two hours away and always try to eat at our favorite Bloomington Restaurant at least once a month! It's an independent restaurant located downtown. Definately at the top of my favorite restaurants! The gyros are superb!!! And they have Baklava ice cream for dessert! Would DEFINATELY recommend if you haven't tried it! more

Always Eat at the Trojan Horse! 8/7/2011

This has been our favorite restaurant in Bloomington since our sons were students at IU. We never go to Bloomington without eating at the Trojan Horse at least one time during our stay. It's an independent restaurant located on the southeast corner of the downtown square and within walking distance of all of the shops and beautiful IU campus. The food is reasonably priced and ALWAYS consistantly excellent. The Greek choices are varied and delicious. You are missing a Bloomington tradition if you don't eat at this superb restaurant! Try any of the appetizers, I would highly recommend all of them. Even if you aren't sure about Greek food, I think you will be hooked once you try some of their choices. Of course they offer other choices besides Greek, but we live in an area where Greek foods are not available to us. The seating might be tight if you arrive on game days, but anyone over 21 may eat upstairs which offers additional seating. Gotta love the Trojan Horse! more

Still great and getting better. 8/6/2011

I have been going to the Trojan Horse since I was a Freshman at IU Bloomington, and no I am not telling how many decades ago that was, needless to say I still find it to be one of the best places to eat in town. As an independent Restaurant it isn't forced to follow the trends of chain stores that serve what ever is trendy at the corporate headquarters this month, they fix and serve consistantly delicious food that leaves me wanting more but there is never room for desert. With the exception of once (everyone has a bad day) the wait staff is always attentive and friendly. Best of all when you leave there will be money in your wallet because they are reasonable priced. Get a Heros club card and enjoy all the perks and the monthly newsletter. more

Great local restaurant 8/6/2011

My family and I go here often. It's a reasonably-priced, unique food experience in Bloomington. It's an independent restaurant that offers something far better than the usual stuff. The gyros and fries are the best. The cheese parer (sp?) is a favorite appetizer. The wait staff has watched my kids grow and always treats us as regular, expected guests. more

Great Greek Food 8/5/2011

Great Greek food from one of Bloomington's fine independent restaurants. If you are tired of wings and burgers try Trojan Horse for great gyros and other Greek specialties. If you have never had the Saganaki you are truly missing out. more

Yummy Greek Food! 8/5/2011

The best independent Greek restaurant I know! I love the Saganaki! Great for dates or a family dinner out! If you go on a weekend...it is Bloomington, you may have to wait, but it's worth it! more

Date night in Bloomington 8/5/2011

We enjoy date nights in Bloomington, starting with dinner at The Trojan Horse. The gyros dinners are our favorite at this terrific independent restaurant where we always feel like part of the family. Free food for having their Heros Club card is almost as good as the mixed veggies or baklava, almost. And our daughter includes their veggie dinner when she gets back to the area. more

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! 8/5/2011

Before moving to Bloomington, IN we would drive over an hour to eat here...then drive home. So yummy...I use to only get the G, but I have started to branch out and it is ALLLL GOOOD. My Son likes it as well. more

One of Bloomington's best 1/11/2011

Love the Trojan Horse. Favorites: Gyros, Chicken Gyros, Spanikopita, Saganaki, Fish Tacos, hand cut french fries, tenderloin, hummus, tabouleh. Service is always good, and I know for a fact that they make almost all of their food from scratch. Good atmosphere, and I totally disagree with DavidAndrew, it's not dirty nor is it dark. It is narrow, it's downtown in an old building so not surprising. Expect a wait when IU has a function like parent's day, ball game, etc. but it's totally worth it. more

Great greek food, recent changes to menu disappointing 1/30/2008

This was my favorite restaurant in Bloomington. The gyros are always delicious, and the appetizers are terrific; try the saganaki if you've never had it! The sides that you can get with the pita bread are great as well, tabouleh, spanikopita, cheeseparer, hummus... Pros: Amazing food, good local beers Cons: Dreary, dark, blase staff more
