Surburban Lanes is a great place to go for a family night out, or for a friends get-together. They have great bowling specials, coupons located arourd town, a smoke-free environment, and very friendly employees. The music can get a little loud, but I think that you can expect this in the bowling atmosphere. Easy location to find. Snack bar located inside with speicals running on different days of the week. Very fun time!!

I go to Roberts for nearly all of my photographic supplies. Some of the prices aren't as good as one might find online, but the staff is helpful, friendly, and knows a great deal about photography. They offer a wide range of services (digital printing, film processing, camera repair, etc), and carry all the basic necessities for photography.

The Banneker Center is a wonderful place to take your child for a fun, safe and engaging time. They have several different programs available for children, including a story time, a family night, and toddler play time. I know that they have other programs available for older kids/adults, but I am not familiar with these, as my child isn't old enough to participate yet. The only thing that I can see improvement in is there really isn't anywhere to park execpt on the side of the street. And if there are alot of people already there, you end up parking several streets away from the building.

I lived on the same road that Buddy Bill's is on when I was a teenager. They have expanded since then and I am not sure if the owners are the same. They were always really nice. But one time stands out in my memory. I was out of town visiting friends and I called home to chat with my mom. When she answered, I could tell she was very sick. She had the stomach flu and couldn't keep anything down. I called Buddy Bill's and after explaining the situation, asked if someone would take her some seven-up for her stomach and she would leave money on the door. They did. Brought some crackers too, and wouldn't take the money. I know this is a random story for a review, but it has stayed in my mind for so long as being so kind and generous, that I thought I should share it. They make good sandwiches too.

They helped me get a scooter for an old friend in munster, IN. It was quick and painless and while the price isn't the cheapest but the quality of the product was very high; insurance was able to cover most of it as well. The scooter was quite usable for the elderly and I believe it was a great deal compared to what I saw out there. Overall I would highly recommend this facility to provide adequate medical equipment for anyone to use.
PROS: product, service, insurance help
CONS: price a little high

They rent a little bit of everything at Southside Rentals. They have a big selection of tents and stages,, and chairs for events. They can also furnish linens and dishes. Just about everything you might need for a big party. They have those blow up jumpy things for kids too. I think they also rent a lot of big equipment and stuff too but I don't know much about that. They are all really nice guys too. very helpful and accommodating.

The Bicycle Garage has been around for many years. They run a really nice little bike shop. The staff are very friendly, knowledgable, and not overly pushy. It is such a different environment than the big corporate chain sporting goods store. It's always nice to go to a specialty store like this as well. They really love bicycles.

The Karst Farm Park is one of the best parks that I have found since moving to Bloomington. They have a nice, shady park area for the little ones to play on a hot summer day. This is also the park where alot of the youth/adult soccer games are played, so you have to be careful when you go during the summertime if you are going just for the park area. That crowd can get pretty large. The playground area is safe enough for my young child, but still fun enough for the older ones. There are almost always other parents/children in the area, so it makes for an easy playdate!!

Amused has certainly evolved from it's original format. While they still have some clothing and other random doo-dads, the main emphasis is on paraphernalia. It was a big shock to me when I walked in that back room and saw it all. I am not a prude but I had no idea that all of that stuff was so available. Seems like it should be called Amused Headshop instead.
