I've been enjoying myself and new found friends on the mat for several months now. Aikido practice has quickly become one of my favorite parts of my week.

Harmony School is where the people I moved to Bloomington for went to school for the most part. Sending your kids here is basically like having them homeschooled. The classes of 1999 through 2002 turned out a lot of my best friends, and so many other characters with amazing personalities that I didn't really know well. If you're a hippie, environmentalist, liberal, punk, or anyone who doesn't buy into America's culture of bullshit, then this is the school to send your kids to. If you can't afford it there are scholarships available as well.

If you are thinking about going to college, I recommend Indiana University in Bloomington. I transfered to IU when I was junior. The campus is huge, but you can get around with IU campus buses and city buses. Those buses can take you to College Park shopping mall and shopping area. When you are at IU, you really don't need a car.
They have a large library on campus; a great place for researching and writhing papers. The main library has a great collection of books in Asian languages. As I remember, you don't have to be an IU student to check out books at man library. Classes can be very large at IU, but more specialized classes are very small. It all depends on how you like your classes to be. If you think you can not do well in big classes, maybe IU is not for you. However, IU is a great college with very good professors. I learned a lot while I was at IU.

More
Services like prenatal yoga, childbirth education, prenatal and postpartum doulas, referrals to midwives, breastfeeding support ...plus products like Bravado Bras and baby slings ... BABS is a fabulous find for anyone who is pregnant, or who wants to give a wonderful gift to someone who's pregnant. Every week they have "Mother-Baby Time" which is kind of an open office event for mamas to bring their nurslings in and hang out, a life-serving (and preserving!) experience in itself.
Georg'ann Cattelona, BABS' director and founder, is a childbirth educator certified by the International Childbirth Education Association; a birth doula, certified by Doulas of North America; and an extremely capable prenatal yoga instructor. If you're pregnant, she can help make your life wonderful!

More
We're not members of the First United Methodist Church, but our sons have been going to their PDO (Parent's Day Out) daycare program for three years now.
It's a wonderfully flexible program, where you sign up your child for a M-F, MWF or TR schedule, and then you're only committed to pay for a minimum of two hours' care per day, and it doesn't matter if you use all your hours on one day or spread them out through the week. So if you're looking for a regular "Parent's Day" so you can go to a yoga class or go shopping without the kids or whatever, or if you have a part-time job with regular daytime hours, it's great.
The teachers are very kind and loving, and well-prepared in case of emergencies. It's not at all a "driven" place -- their "curriculum" is all about play, not teaching kids. And it's not "churchy" the way that some church-run daycare programs can be.

Went into this scrapbooks store and I was impressed with the selection that they have here. Some of the items that they have on sale are really good deals. They also offer a wide selection of classes and crop nights. Tools are available to use and they even have a computer that can accomodate a 12x12 item. Freindly staff and location is easy to find. I wasn't expecting much when I went in, but was impressed after I left.

More
I haven't taken any massage classes from the Associates of Integrative Health, but I can tell you that I've been a happy customer of their student masseuses, and have well appreciated the special discounts they give to pregnant women for prenatal massage.
Scheduling a student massage is easy, but I wish their hours matched my schedule better and that they were better equipped for drop-in massages.
Again, this is a reputable organization, NOT a masquerade for sexual "massage" services, so don't even try if that's what you're looking for.
