I have to say I was really nervous. Dr Huang was very professional and informative. He asnwers all questions I had before I could ask. About 3 weeks later I was laying back on the table still nervous. Dr Huang came in covered me up and the conversation began. The needle prick was the only pain and it last about a second. He began on the right and went to the left. Both sides was identical except when he finish the last side it was like he pinched a nerve or something. It hurt enough to grab my attention but not enough to yell out or say something. I was in and out in litterally 15 minutes. I mean check in to check out. He is fast. Only pain I had aftewards was minimal. I equated it to a mild headache in my lower region. Day 1 and 2 were identical and I took the med Dr Huang gave me in case things got bad. Day 3 I felt great with no pain. I felt like I could go back to my normal routine but I said let me wait. Thanks Dr Huang you are awesome. more

Any type of surgery can be a terrifying experience especially ..prostate surgery... but Dr. Samuel F. Huang is one of the best surgeons who can take care of this problem with ease. Ok first off, I was very impressed at how well this man knows his stuff. I'm in the medical field, and there was no question that he could not answer. Already my husband was kind of like I'll go and have a consult ,but not promising anything, which was OK with me. Dr. Huang explained everything in GREAT detail to the both of us, was very patient when we asked even more questions. When we left my husband felt much better about the procedure and even set up a date to have the Vas done. We went in (of course I went along to make sure it was done, Oh and for moral support), Dr. Huang put up a drape to keep my husband from seeing (which is the best way) my husband was relaxed, laughed and talked as I watched. We were out of there in 25mins. tops. Minimal bleeding ,Tylenol at bed time, no pain, a little tenderness. We were advised to wait 1-2 weeks before activity in 2 days my man was feeling good and ready.And for all of you that think it affects performance you are DEAD WRONG, its BETTER :) Pros: Great knowledge of Service providing more

After years of contemplating getting a vasectomy, I finally decided to do it. After visiting one urologist (referred to me by my primary care physician) and not having that ""warm fuzzy"" feeling after seeing the office and talking with the doctor, I made an appointment with Durham Urology. It was like night and day. The moment I walked into the facility, I felt at ease (modern, large, and open waiting room, friendly staff). \r \r I had an initial consult with Dr. Huang (pronounced ""Hung"") and asked a number of questions and he explained the procedure to me and told me about what complications could arise. Three weeks later I had the procedure. Dr. Huang was EXTREMELY proficient and professional. He warned me before sticking the needle in to numb the area (don't worry, the shot only stings for a second), and as he was putting on the clamps (which was almost immediately after the shot) he would ask if I was in any pain. The local anesthesia takes effect VERY quickly.\r \r From that point, he ""did his thing"". You will be covered in some material so you won't have to see what's going on (he does the procedure standing up). The only thing you'll see is smoke when he cauterizes the vas (a little bizarre to see, but nothing to worry about. No pain). He was literally done within 15 minutes. There was only one point during the procedure where he must have got a nerve, and it hurt a little, but only for a second (just enough to get my attention. No biggie). I was amazed when he told me he was done. It was over in no time. When he was through, he said ""that's it. You can get dressed."" It was that simple. I walked out of the office with NO pain whatsoever. About two yours later, I felt just a VERY minor pain that lasted only 15-20 minutes, but nothing that made me reach for any Tylenol (and I have a low-pain threshold) . Do yourself a favor and see Dr. Huang if you're considering a vasectomy. Had procedure just yesterday. Still NO pain. Unbelievable!
