Transmission Corporation of America 7/2/2007

I like the work Transmission Corporation of America did for me. My family is now riding around in a safe and dependable car and I don't have to worry if we are going to break down anymore. The gentleman I spoke with over the phone when I first called in about the trouble I was having with my transmission was very helpful. He offered to tow in my car for free. After they found out what was wrong he called me and told me what needed to be done but said he could not do any repairs until I gave him my permission and authorized the repairs I wanted. After they finished they work he had his secretary come and pick me up at my home so I could get my car from their shop. I didn't have a ride up there to pick up my car and I was going to have to pay a cab to take me to the shop, but the man at Transmission Corporation said he did not want me to spend money on a cab because they offer a free pick up service if I needed it. I thought that was nice because he saved me money again. They are very helpful at this shop and if I have any friends that need repair work I will refer them to go to Transmission Corporation. Pros: free towing and free pick up service when my car was ready and very helpful staff Cons: I liked the service I got and I liked the work they did more

perfect 7/2/2007

I could say a number of wonderful things to describe Transmission Corporation of America but the one word that sticks out in my mind is PERFECT. I have the highest regards for this business and all the employees there. I have never been treated with more courtesy at a repair facility. Usually a repair shop will try to take advantage of me , seeing that I am a female but Transmission Corporation of America treated me with respect and dignity. I'm sure the manager at the Kingston Pike location of Transmission Corporation of America did not know my father made his living as a transmission rebuilder while he was alive. Nor did the manager know I was well versed in the automotive repair feild , specifically transmission repair since my father tried to teach me everything he knew. I already knew the problem with my car when I brought it in but I did not tell Jack, the manager, that I knew. I wanted to see if he, like all the other shop managers I had dealt with over the past couple of weeks, would try to take advantage of me since I was a woman. However, to my surprise, Jack was very honest with me about the condition of my transmission. I knew from past experience that I only needed a vehicle speed sensor and on my particular transmission this could be replaced externaly. The other shops I had visited had tried to tell me they either needed to remove my transmission to tell me what was wrong and one shop had told me it would cost nearly 2,500 to rebuild my transmission completely. I was so happy when Jack at Transmission Corporation of America told me the truth I already knew. Jack told me I needed a vehicle speed sensor and it was only going to cost a little over 100 dollars. I was so happy to realize I had finally found a transmission shop with good ethics and an honest manager. So this is for all the women out there seeking an automotive repair facility who will treat them honestly and fairly: GO TO TRANSMISSION CORPORATION OF AMERICA. THEY WILL TREAT YOU RIGHT!!! Pros: thumbs up- this place does NOT try to take advantage of women Cons: I only have positive things to say about this place, there is NO NEGATIVE more

Transmission Corporation does quick repairs 6/27/2007

MY transmission work was done quickly at Transmission Corporation. They gave me a ride home that was about 25miles away from the shop and did not charge me. They stayed late to meet me at the shop when I picked up my truck. they close at 5:30 and the manager stayed late till 6:45 so I could get my truck before the weekend. Most places would have not stayed late on a Friday night and most places would have made me wait until Monday. But Transmission Corporation waited for me. I thought that was real good customer service. The price I was charged was competitve. I know because I shopped around and checked other shop's prices before I went to Transmission Corporation. I have been driving my truck now for 6 weeks after they fixed it and it is doing very well. I am happy with the way my truck is shifting now. I also checked around at other shops to see what kind of warranty everyone offerred. Transmission Corporation was they only one who would give me a warranty that is good any where in the United States. I am very happy with the work they did for me and I am extra happy with the extra time the spent waiting for me and I think that is super customer service. If anyone is looking for a place to take there truck to get it fixed I would tell them to go to Transmission Corporation. I visited the one on Kingston Pike in Knoxville and I was treated very well. I will go back there again if I need anything else fixed on my truck. Pros: stayed late on a Friday night for me to pick up my car Cons: no cons more

TCOA is A#1 6/27/2007

I rate the service level of TCOA as 100+++++. I received the highest level of satisfaction from TCOA regarding customer service and satisfaction, and the highest level of workmanship. My car is doing excellent now that TCOA worked on it and I am pleased with the level of service I received. The staff seems very concerned in my opinion of their service and I appreciate that. I think this may be the best place I have ever taken my car. I have received a thank you card for my patronage and also a follow up call regarding my opinion of the level of customer service I received. OUTSTANDING is how I describe my experience with this company. Pros: outstanding customer service more

service is great 6/26/2007

good service, great people! I will recommend these people to others. the work they did was very good and their prices were ok too. please tell your friends and family this is the place to visit if you need transmission work, or any auto repair work. they do it all. they did a tune up for me while my car's transmission was being replaced. I will be returning to their store in about 3-5,000 miles for my brakes. Transmission Corp. is a good place to take your car. They did me right and I will return because of it. I even got a call a couple days after I got my vehicle out of their shop just to check on me and the car to see if everything was going ok or if there was anything else they could do for me. That's good customer service. Pros: i like the customer service with the follow up call Cons: no more

extra cool staff and good service 6/26/2007

My old p.o.s. that I've been driving since I got out of high school decided to take a dump on me while I was getting ready to go out of town. I found Transmission Corporation of america in the phone book and called to let them know how desperate I was for help seeing as how I was on the side of the road stuck! The man on the other end of the line was quite freindly and agreed to help me right away. he had a tow truck there to pick up me and my car within about 20 minutes. I was never so happy to see a tow truck in my life! All the guys were nice to me while they fixed my car. The manager there was even nice enough to call my dad with all the details and explained to him what needed to be done. I was back on the road within a day and I got to take my vacation anyway, even though I had to leave a day late. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet all the staff at Tranmsission Corporation of America. If any of my friends need transmission work I will definitely tell them where to go.........straight to Transmission Corporation of America. Pros: totally cool staff Cons: nopey more

easy to deal with 6/25/2007

Being a consumer today I am very concerned with customer service as well as cost . I know now a days that seems to be a lot to ask for and you rarely find any company who cares about customer service. I found such a company who has high standards for their customer service. I am pleased with how I was treated when I went to Transmission Corporation of amercia. They spent alot of time with me and were very accomadating to my needs. This is a company who helped me with financing and also with transportation while my car was being fixed. I am pleased to say I have finally found a company who values the people who keep them in business........their customers. They put their customers at the top of their priority list and they did alot to ensure I was satisfied with every aspect of our dealings. If you are looking for a auto repair company who is easy to deal with and is concerned with their customers......this is the place for you! Pros: easy to deal with more

best customer service i've ever received 6/22/2007

I have recently received the best customer service i have ever received in my life. The Transmission Corporation of America staff went above and beyond anything I expected. I got a free tow, a free transmission test, a free computer scan , a free ride home and free delivery of my car when they were finished. What else could anyone ask for? These guys really know how to treat their customers!!! Jack is the manager there and he was pleasant do deal with. He made everything easy for me to understand. I know transmissions can sometimes be a very costly expense however my main concern was quality. The price was not the cheapest, but it was not the most expensive either. Unbeknowns to Jack, I had checked with his competitors after he had given me the price of the repairs I needed. 1 of his competitors was a little cheaper on their price, but there were 3 other of his competitors that were quite a bit more expensive. As I said quality is my main concern and that is exactly what I received........TOP QUALITY and the price turned out to be very competetive and actually less expensive than three other shops here in town. I feel like I have gotten a good deal and they did a great job repairing my car. The extra care they gave me was refreshing. I said it before and I'll say it again.............THIS IS THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Transmission Corporation of America for going that extra mile!!!!!!! Pros: excellent customer service, and very good repair job more

TCA quality of work is very good 6/21/2007

I had my 1996 Dodge 1500 4x4 at another trans place in town and they gave me some outrageous price to fix the darn thing. I told them to slow their roll and put my trans back in my truck after I spoke to James at TCA and he told me he thought the price sounded a little high and thought he could do it for a lot less. I picked up my truck from the other shop on Northshore DRive and it wouldn't even move. I had to have it towed to Transmission Crop. of America on Clinton Hwy. James said he'd tow it for me at no charge to his shop so I let him. Once he had his mechanics look at it he confirmed the price the other shop was trying to charge me was indeed to high and he could do the job for about a thousand dollars less . I was so happy to hear that I could have kissed him. I am not gay or nothing, but boy was I liking James a whole lot after I heard the price he gave me. My truck is running real good now and I have a country wide warranty to boot. That's important since I travel so much. James was a big help and I want everyone to know it. I am pleased with the work they did and very pleased with the price. I called the shop it was at first and let them know what I thought about them trying to get so much money for the same thing James and Transmission Corporation did for a thousand dollars less. I won't tell anyone to go to the shop on Northshore, but I will tell everyone to go see Transmission Corporation of America cause they did me right. Pros: good prices and good work more

fair repair prices 6/20/2007

Transmission Corporation of America did a good job for me. It did not cost a lot of money for the work the did. They did it quickly to. I had a nice visit with this place. My son had a truck worked on there last year and they did a good job for him to. When my car broke my son said to take it to them becuase they did good work for him. I am glad I listened to m y son. The people were good people and they didn't charge me a lot of money to fix my car. I wish there were more people in this world like them. I baked them some cookies and took them to them to let them know what a good job I thought they did for me. I hoped they liked them. This is the first time I have wrote a review for anything. My son helped me get on the internet so I could let people know I liked this place a lot. I hope I never break my car again, but if I do I will definately take it to them again. They are good poeple. Pros: good job done for me and for my son to Cons: nope more

best tranny shop anywhere 6/20/2007

I want to yell it from the rooftops ""Transmission Corporation of America is the best""!!!! I was treated better there than any other tranny shop I went to and believe me, I went to a bunch before I decided who I would let work on my car. From the moment I stepped through the door to the time I paid for my repairs I have never encountered an auto repair shop with more professional people. This is the kind of service I demand everywhere I go! The only difference is at this place I did NOT have to demand it , it was freely given without having to ask or demand anything. I felt extremely comfortable leaving my vehicle with them. The technicians seemed very knowledgable and experienced. I have zero complaints and only praise to give them. Everyone there had customer service at the top of their priority list. I think this is the place all of you should go! Pros: superior customer service Cons: no more

kind and helpful with reasonable prices 6/20/2007

God was looking over me when my Honda tore up and I went to the yellow pages to find a repair shop. That's where I found Transmission Corporation of America. I feel very fortunate to have met the fine gentleman there. It was refreshing to deal with men who were considerate to my needs. I have heard horror stories about transmission shops and I was frightened when mine went out. The men took very good care of me and my car. They made the repairs in a timely fashion and I can';t say enough about how kind they all were to me. I will recommend all my friends at church to go there. I love my Honda and I did not want to trade it in for another vehicle. They helped me through a difficult time and I got to keep my Honda and have it repaired at a reasonable price. I hope other Christians read this so they will know where to go when they need help. Pros: kind hearted employees and timely repairs Cons: none at all more

best service in town 6/19/2007

I got my transmission fixed at the Clinton Hwy. location and they did a good job for me. I thought the shop looked nice and clean and the manager was very kind. Everyone there was extremely helpful and courteous. I thought they did a nice job and my truck shifts good now. Before I came in it would shift hard alot and make funny noises. James the manager was nice to me and had the girl there give me a ride to work while they fixed my truck. The price was reasonable and I am pleased with they way I was treated. I told my wife to take her car there to have them check it out and the only thing they suggested for her was a routine service. They even explained to her how often to have the oil changed and rotate her tires. They also told her to have the transmission serviced once a year or every 30,000 m8iles. I hope other repair shops will start treating people the way Transmission America does. They are very nice people! Pros: nice guys Cons: it was hard to find a parking spot more

great people, great service 6/18/2007

Jack was so nice to me when I called him about my Buick. He gave me a free check up and when I found out it was the transmission i was really scared because I know how much these new trannys can cost. He was very patient with me and explained everything real slow so I could understand. His mechanics were real smart and knew what they were doing. He walked me through step by step through the process of having my tranny fixed. It was less expensive than I thought it was going to be and I can't believe how nice they were. I want Jack and them boys to fix my car anytime I need service. I really like them guys. I got a letter in the mail from them telling me thanks for my business. This is the kind of place I've been looking for for to take my car to. Pros: nice people, quick repairs more

on-call service day or night and weekends too 6/15/2007

I was traveling from North Carolina down to Georgia when my car stopped on the interstate. It was about 10:30 at night on Saturday and I looked for a local number in Knoxville close to the exit on Interstate 40. I found Transmission Corporation of America in the Yellow Page diretory and phoned the # listed expecting to get an answering service or machine. However, a gentleman answered and had a tow truck to pick me and my car up within the half hour. I met the manager at the shop and he even drove me to a near by hotel and told me to get a good night's sleep and not to worry. He called me the very next day and set me up with a great rental car deal so I could continue on my way to see my family in Georgia. By the time I was on my way back to North Carolina the car was fixed and all I had to do was stop in, pay , sign some paper work and pick up my car. If it wouldn/t have been for the sweet young man I delt with I don;t think I would have been able to see my family. My trip would've been ruined if it wasn't for him and his crew working so hard to get me back on the road. I appreciate the freindly service I received and I thought it was so nice to get the call the following day after I left. He just wanted to make sure I made it home safely. This man is wonderful. I wish there were more auto repair places who had the same concern and care for their customers as this man did. I wanted to let all the people in TN know how much I appreciate the hospitality I received. The made a tragic experience turn pleasant. Pros: nice to out-of-towners, more

expert mechanics 6/15/2007

Pros: nice people, expert mechanics, fast repairs more

great service and excellent workmanship 6/11/2007

My experience with Transmission Corporation of America on Kingston Pike was great! All employees were friendly and knowledgeable. I had my transmission rebuilt about 2 months ago and wanted to wait before writing this review to make sure the work was really good. My car drove great when I picked it up from their shop but I wanted to make real sure it was going to last. It has been over 2 months now and it is still running like new! These folks are real good and real nice. They really know what they are doing. The manager and some lady even called me a few days after I left their shop just to check on me and my car. I also received a thank you card in the mail the following week. I would recommend these guys to anyone, even my mother! Pros: nice people , great work more

old-time service and values 6/8/2007

I want to let everyone know what great care and concern was given to me when I had my 1989 Ford truck fixed at Transmission Corporation of America on Clinton Hwy. James the manager was very nice. He checked my truck out and took me into the shop to show me what my transmission fluid in the pan looked like when they took it off. Then he was honest with me about not knowing how much it would be to fix it until they took out the tranmsission and opened it up to see the inside of it. I ok'd them to take it out and open it up to see what's gone wrong inside. He had his secretary give me a ride all the way back to my job in Seymour and did not charge me a penny for her time or gas. When he called me later that day with the price to actually fix the tranny, he did not realize I had called around to see how much the Ford place would charge me and I had also called 3 other tranny shops, 1 in Seymour and 2 in Knoxville. I already had a price from 4 other places before he called me with his price and I was expecting him to say the same thing they did. I was surprised to hear James' price because it was hundreds of dollars LESS than anyone elses prices. He even gave me a national warranty good all over the country. I was really impressed then. He wanted me to come and see the damage so I did. I don't know how those guys do it, but wow what a big jigsaw puzzle it looked like inside that tranny! He took the time to explain how and why my tranny conked out. I told him fine, and go ahead to fix it. It was ready the very next morning! WOW!!!!! That is really the old time service I remember back in my day and you just can;t find it too many places anymore. If you are looking for that old time service you should go to Transmission Corp. of America!!! Pros: old fashioned service and quality repair more

rip off company committing fraud 6/5/2007

The sign says ""free computer scan"" it is not free because he will pull the transmission out without authorization and charge you 400.00-700.00 and if you can not pay it he will place a lein on it and then sell the car without authorization. He doesn't care if the automobile is financed or not. This is FRAUD! if it happens to you, call your finance company and report it, call your local police and report it and call Don Dare at WATE. Also check out the investigative report that Don Dare did on this company. Cons: unethical behavior more

great customer service 5/4/2007

I was broke down on I-75 and I 640. I was having transmission trouble and called my husband. After talking to my husband and his coworkers I was told that Transmission Corp of America had a good repore with local residents. So I called them TCOA and told them my situation and within 46 minutes I was riding in the tow truck and headed to TCOA on clinton hwy. As soon as we pulled in I was greeted with a smile which by this time I needed to see a happy face. I had an appt with a real estate agent and needed to have my car back on the road as soon as possible and within minutes I was told that I needed to leave my car and have repairs done. The manager asked if I needed a ride or did I want to rent a car? I chose to have a family member pick me up. Within 24 hrs I was up and running again and still running like a new car. I would like to end by saying thanks to TCOA Staff and all the hard work to reassure my beliefs in Automotive Care Center. They will always take care of my personel vehicles and will spread the good word. Thanks again Pros: customer service and loyalty Cons: quality more
