Don't ask them for an informed suggestion on cigars. Idiots. Nice variety but over priced. Not sure if the one who helped me even understood what I was saying. Then my wife got to...

best pipe tobacco in the USA 9/16/2010

In 1974 I began to smoke a pipe with serious intentions. While on a vacation to Seattle I came across this little tobacco shop in Pike's Market Place. The shop keeper mixed up a blend that smelled really smooth. He called it Americana. He did a second blend for me called Africa Blend. For the next 10 or so years whenever I was heading to Yellow Point Lodge for a week of R n R I'd stop off for another 8 oz. pack. I stopped smoking in 1986. Last month, August of 2010 I found my old tobacco pouch which still had Americana. I smoked it and was amazed at the quality and the fact that it lasted so long. I called the shop, ordered by phone and am enjoying the memories. more

This is THE place for Cigars on the Eastside! 4/24/2010

I don't think it's even a guess that the people who rated this place with 1 ""Star"" aren't cigar smokers. Especially the clown who complained that there were people smoking cigars outside who... GOD FORBID... had a space heater. (Those people are NOT the reason the anti-smoking ban was passed. It's because of anti-social pipsqueeks like THAT guy & his wife) I've been to the store in Redmond, and it's a good store, but they're real focus is WINE, not cigars. On top of which, the location of The Tobacco Patch in Kirkland is GREAT! There's Moss Bay right around the corner, or you can hang out with the regulars out front AND POSSIBLY EVEN MAKE A FRIEND OR TWO. (One of my best friends right now is a guy I met about 2 years ago while I sat out front and smoked a cigar.) The men who work in the store DO know about cigars, and even if they don't have an answer for you...that collection of scary people out front with their music, and lawn chairs, and propane heater surely will. Pros: Great selection, and good people. Cons: The charge retail, but so what?! more

Great place for cigars 9/24/2009

I have shopped and the Kirkland and Pike Market stores for 15 years now and still drive out of my way to shop here. Pros: Great Selection and help Cons: None I can think of more

Best cigar selection on the Eastside! 2/28/2008

I read the first two comments about this quaint little store in Kirkland and I'm gonna hedge a bet they're NOT cigar smokers! The store is owned by two brothers of middle-eastern decent. That's irrelevant. What is relevant - their vast selection! You name it, chances are they've got it - or will get it for you. Sure, you could drive to Redmond (or anywhere else), but you won't find the same quality or selection (I've looked). I'm also ""one of those cigar smokers who sat out front."" I lived on the Eastside for 19 years and the last two of which, I smoked right there. Many of my friends still shop and smoke there (only place they'll go). I also found more often than not, our group to be approachable and friendly (most of the guys have been smoking there for ten years). We make the most of what we have since the ban went into effect. We try to not block foot traffic and I certainly can never recall being rude to anybody. As for their prices, I'd say they're on average with other retailers, if not LOWER. I bought a box (25) of stogies for my wedding in '06 and it set me back $60. Hardly highway robbery when you consider that I've seen that same box go for closer to $80 and higher at some of those ""bargain"" cigar stores. So, don't just take my word for it. Go in and have a look around. Say 'Hi' to the guys out front for me! -Jason Pros: Selection of cigars and pipes, community setting, store hours Cons: parking, space is limited when busy more

They don't know anything about cigars! 1/7/2008

Don't ask them for an informed suggestion on cigars. Idiots. Nice variety but over priced. Not sure if the one who helped me even understood what I was saying. Then my wife got to deal with some goofy people outside in front with a loud stereo, sitting in lawn chairs, smoking up a storm, even got their own heater out there! Looks like a homeless shelter! It's cigar smokers and noise makers like these silly people that led to the passing of no smoking in or in front of retail shops! Pros: good selection Cons: not knowledgeable, no parking, overpriced, not friendly, rude customers more

Dang! They are expensive! 3/13/2007

Plenty of sexual, cheauvenistic and anti-American comments. Pros: Can't thik of any Cons: Way too expensive, very rude, not women friendly more

Overpriced, unfriendly, so many nicer options. 3/13/2007

Not a friendly place. Not good prices either. Plenty of options in Kirkland and Redmond. They do have a good variety, but too expensive. Pros: Decent selection, good hours. Cons: Too expensive and not easy to deal with. more
