Unpleasant experience 6/25/2010

Girlfriend and I stopped in after a day of shopping looking for good meal and pleasant atmosphere. What we got was a strange combination of good steaks with everything else we had ranging from sad to inedible. Pros: Good Meat Cons: Everyting else more

Best steak for the money 11/23/2006

What do I love most about The Keg? Probably the fact that a person can get a great steak with a potato & veggie sides as well as a salad and bread for around $20. Sure throw in a drink and the price goes up, but it's like that pretty much everywhere else. My boyfriend and I visit The Keg about once per month when we get a hankering for steak. We typically don't dine in the main dining area (long waits, especially on the weekends) and instead head to the bar where we can still have our full dinner menu (only downside is sometimes the music is a touch loud). The food has always been great, service has always been very good, and the prices are the best part. Oh, and for anyone who loves crab like me - I highly recommend trying their crab legs special when it shows up on the menu come springtime! I can never finish the crab. Sure, I will admit the steak is not like what one will find at El Gaucho, however it is better than the two experiences I've had with steak from Ruth's Chris, and definitely worth the price. If you haven't discovered The Keg yet, then you are missing out. more

A huge disappointment 9/5/2005

We had food from the Keg in Niagara Falls and we fell in love with this place. The steaks were awesome and the 3 cheese butter on the baked pot. was to die for. We were excited to hear that the Seattle area also had this great rest. The excitement soon ended when I got my steak back that was supposed to be well done and it was medium. The potato was okay, but tasted a bit burnt. When my steak came back, it was also burnt and lacked any real flavor. None of the wonderful seasonings that we feel in love with at the other Keg seemed to be on this steak. On the plus side, the manager did pay for my meal. On the negative, I only had my baked pot and 4 bits of my steak. more

Fair Steak + Fair Service @ Fair Prices 7/12/2005

The steaks may not be the best in Seattle, but the prices are very fair. I found this location as a fair spot to satisfy your crave for steak at a competative price (compared to other popular steakhouses). Most of the appetizers are plain: calamari the size of popcorn, and scallops & bacon incredibly dull. The crab, parmesan & spinach dip is very tastey! The steaks vary: teriyaki steak sauce was too sweet, mushroom sirloin was delicious, steak & lobster also delicious. Satisfied? Yes! Wowed? No. It's good steak, but doesn't have a unique punch or stand out in any way. The Keg is a decent option, but if you want to endulge in outstanding & zesty steak -- you'll find better (yet more expensive) options towards downtown. Pros: Inexpensive, Relaxed Environment, Good Parking Cons: Plain more
