This was an O.K. place to visit. But, the most interesting part was the WW2 battleship out by the bay and the Dolphin Exploring boat ride offered out by the bay. The actual aquari...

How very special it was for the Florida Aquarium to donate tickets for the kids in Hope Children's Home to be able to enjoy a visit. The kids loved feeling star fish and petting the back of a stingray! Due to poor weather, we were unable to enjoy the water play area, which looked absolutely awesome! (fountains, pirate ships, little slides...)But the kids still had a great time! Two thumbs way up! more

I love to visit the Aquarium, but I really wish they did date nights! Its so sad that the place closes at 5, when working people could go! more

Great aquarium, outside water area great for kids, though they could use a little more monitoring. My little ones get trampled if it's a busy day. Great place to go in the summer as it is air conditioned! My family does Busch Gardens in the winter, Aquarium in the summer! more

This is a wonderful place to spend the afternoon with your kids. They can see all the fish, inside and outside. They can touch all kinds of stuff in the touch tank and also pet the stingrays. Then they can play outside in the waterpark while you sit and enjoy a tasty beverage from the bar. more

A nice aquarium with an amazing HUGE tank. The tank goes from floor to very high ceiling and is the home to TONS of fish. Of course, like everything in FL, it is hot so keep that in mind when going for the day. more

We took our little one to the Aquarium & he was so alert. Also they have a small snad place for kids, which I think is good for toddlers. more

This is a favorite for our little girl. She is only four months old but loves to follow the fish and track everything she can. more

Outdoor explore a shore area offers plenty of splashing and sand pit fun for little ones. It does tend to be crowded which makes it a challenge to get up close to the tanks to see the animals on display. The touch tanks have friendly volunteers able to answer questions about the creatures you can touch. The shark tank is a favorite with many visitors. more

My kids and I really enjoyed this place when we had season passes. My older son got bored with the indoor aquarium after multiple visits during one season, but not my younger son. And, I don't think either of my kids could get bored with the outdoor water play area. They just love it! I think this is a better deal if you get season passes or discount coupons, since it seems a little overpriced for just one day visits. more

I went here for a wedding about 2 years ago and it was gorgeous they got the whole aquarium to themselves after hours and the kids could go wherever they wanted and look at everything at night ... It was great!! I cant wait to go back!! more

The actual aquarium is very nice but our favorite part is the water play area. We purchased the pass just so we could play in the water and sand area. Well worth the money. During the week it is not very crowded. We found the food to be a little over priced but we usually bring our own snacks and no one has said anything! more

This is great place for all ages. more

You can follow a drop of rainwater through it's course to the Ocean at the wonderful aquarium. Lots of Florida eco-friendly fun here! The newer splash area for kids is lots of fun on a hot day! My daughter stayed and played in this area for almost 2 hours! They have a great Key West themed bar/restaurant for everyone to kick back and relax for a fun day trip outing. Near the Tampa Port so you can drive by and see the cruise ships, too. more

This place is so much fun. I purchased an annual membership, which they have several different options of plans. Also with the membership they offer other discounts to participating businesses...local and out of town. I take my daugher at least once a week. I really enjoy taking her out to the explore a shore. Where I find we can spend an hour or more just letting her run around to where ever she desires. So far during the week the crowd is light and I can let her go exploring in the tanks without having to worry that someone will run her over. more

Slightly pricey, but have excellent kids programs and fun animals. more

The aquarium is a little on the short side and quite expensive, but worth it! There are many areas designed for children to get acquainted with sea life. My son loved petting the stingrays and jellyfish. There are exhibits indoors as well as outdoors, great variety of tanks too. more

  • Overview
Gills and thrills fill this stunning 152,000-square-foot, glass-topped structure built in 1995. It houses many of Florida's most famous fish and other waterside wildlife. Aside from the obvious aquatic animals, river otters, roseate spoonbills and a great horned owl are right at home.

    The Experience
From the deep-sea dive of the Coral Reef to the top of the glass dome, the aquarium keeps current with Florida's currents. Watch divers swim with sharks at the Shark Bay exhibit, or wander through streams, marshes, rivers, swamps and mangroves in the Wetlands. Youngsters will enjoy the hands-on Explore-A-Shore coastal discovery zone. To experience Florida wildlife in its natural environment, hop on one of the aquarium's catamaran eco-tours. Adventurous visitors who want to get even closer can Swim with the Fishes--an in-water adventure that does not require SCUBA certification.
