Last summer I went to Las Vegas for a wedding, and had given the responsibility of a hotel to the other person. They waited some time before booking the room, so the only decently priced room we could find was at the Stardust. We checked in around 12 after driving from northern California. The lobby of the hotel was rather nice, and had great displays. They offered some great slot machines, which I love, and a nice little (but expensive) cafe. Once we made it up to our room, it was a disaster. They put us at the end of the hallway, which was very very very long. It felt like it took a 1/2 hour just to get to the room once you stepped off the elevator. Right next to the elevator was a soda machine. My roommate went to the soda machine, and I could not even hear what he was saying from outside the room door, he had to call me!!! I would recommend to the Stardust not to have rooms so far off in la-la land. Most of the time you are in Vegas you are going to be walking, shopping and sight seeing, so you don't want to have to take a hike to your room.
