May 2007 Another attempt, albeit our last, to try and enjoy this restaurant.\r
Yes, we were seated within 10 mins of our reservation. It took some time for our server to come over and take the drink and chips/salsa order. The chips taste like they came from a bag, e.g. Tostitos and the salsa was SO mild it was one step away from stewed tomatoes. \r
I tried the chicken mole, which I love, but not here. What are these people thinking?! Seemed there was a ""veg-all""theme going all through dinner. My mole had a ton of little square carrots all the way through it, the chicken was dry, the rice was dirt dry and the beans were black beans (which are cuban NOT mexican) It was horrible. Poor hubby tried the Carne Asada, which he loves, but again, no there! The sauce they smother around it certainly comes from a can as no self respecting Mexican would ever make that. The enchilada that came with it was a cold blob of cheese, much like the ""quesadilla"" they try to pawn off across the street at the cantina. Just horrible all the way around.\r
When the server came back and asked how our meal was, we told her quite honestly just how bad it was. Her response? ""would you like a to go box?"" We told her no, just deliver it to the garbage where it belongs.\r
If you know ANYTHING, even the SLIGHTEST thing, about Mexican food , don't come here. If you're a gringo tourist who thinks Taco Bell is delish, you'll love it. \r
It's crowded and dark, but nice & cool. It would be a cute cantina but unfortunately they serve food.\r
Avoid it at all costs.
Pros: Cute atmosphere IF you get a table on the ""river""
Cons: Terrible food, horrid service, long waits
