Great Music, Lousy Venue 6/25/2011

Pops concert with Idina Menzell was a mixed bag. Ms. Menzell and the Pops orchestra were spectacular, however, the venue is horrible. Let's start with boorish idiot with a loud boat on the Ohio that interrupted the performance on three separate occasions. There should be some way to prevent. Barge traffic going by was quiet as were other boats. RsVIP club is a joke. You get better parking own rest rooms, ladies was in horrible condition, and the worst food for sale at any performance venue we've ever eaten. Add uncomfortable seats, confusing exit and, after this season is finished, never again. We'll hear Pops elsewhere. A disgrace to Cincinnati easily rectified by a new facility. Only fair sound as well. more

Horridly awful venue for lawn seats... 6/4/2009

I went to my first Riverbend Concert last night - Coldplay. While the band was awesome as always, the acoustics of the lawn are awful. Chris Martin made up for it by coming out to the center lawn stage to sing to us though. :) I am 5'3"" tall and the lower I went, the less I could see of the stage. The design of the shelter is horridly awful. It is pretty sad that you can pay a fortune for tickets (52 bucks for LAWN seats) and not even be able to really see the artist because of the way the building is made. I would recommend not spending the money on a lawn seat, and instead just upping your total cost to get inside. It had to have been better there. Oh and if it recently rained, or you think it is going to rain, bring a trash bag or tarp to lay your blanket on, the ground was soaked last night for us! Overall I give this venue a 1 star for poor acoustics and seating. Pros: The bands they somehow manage to attract Cons: River stench, acoustics, inability to see, soaking wet lawn more

Kenny Chesney Show 8/19/2007

I attended the Kenny Chesney show on Thursday night. I paid well over $500.00 for my tickets. This was my choice to do to be able to see him, but there had to be something wrong with him. He did not put on a good show at all. I love going to Riverbend, I think it is a perfect place for concerts. The only drawback to Thursday night's show was too many people. I am just wondering if Kenny was sick or tired or what the problem was because he didn't even come back out for an encore. Right now I am kicking myself in the you know what for paying that much for the ticket. Pros: Love being outside Cons: Too many tickets sold, not enough bathrooms more

Way too small for Kenny Chesney's Show! 8/17/2007

Poor Kenny Chesney had no where to run during his performance on Thursday night, he is a very active performer for his audience and Riverbend didn't even have room for his stage to come out in front! What a rip-off for the artist and the fans! The stage is way too small for these big artists!Build it bigger!I do have to say the security was the best I have seen anywhere during a Kenny show! Pros: Good parking if you get there early! Cons: People throwing garbage everywhere!People urinating everywhere! more

Charged full price even though we had entertainment tickets. Not permitted to bring coolers in. Even had to empty a thermos of Ice Water, they said it might be Vodka. Treatment like this is why the crowd was very small for the pops. Us old people might get rowdy. I think you lost 8 patrons Friday night. Had to pay 22.50 to sit on lawn. Pros: Parking, Music, Atmosphere Cons: Cost, Entrance policy more

riverbend sucks 9/28/2002

Riverbend is one of the worst venues i have ever been to for music. The pavillion seats are okay, but if have to be on the lawn the performers llok like ants. The sceens for the show are tiny, and thier are scaffoldings to block your view. I just went to the Incubus concert last night and it was a waste of money. I would have had a better time watching it on paperview. more

Riverbend is tops but... 8/13/2002

Riverbend is great for shows, but give me live music down at Sawer Point, Newport or anywhere else on the river. All in all, riverbend is the top place to perform during the summer, but Cincy gets leanty of use out of the riverfront downtown for free shows during festivals. more
