It took some time but they were able to recover the majority of information lost on my damaged lap top hard drive. The computer was dropped and I thought I lost everything. I spilled hot chocolate all over my laptop computer one morning when I was trying to rush to work. When I tried to turn the laptop back on, it would not work. A friend told me about rewave, so I decided to call them. I let them perform the free evaluation on the laptop to see how bad it was. I got a call back in 2 hours and they gave me a price to get my data for me. This service is not cheap- but it was not too bad. My pictures were very important and something I could not replace. Repairing a crashed hard drive is a bad experience--no matter how you look at it. And I still don't know why it is so expensive, but it is what it is. After trying several commercial data recovery software programs that I downloaded, I realized that I had to go get professional help. I went elsewhere in Charlotte, and did not feel comfortable with the price quote or the people who were assisting me. Marlon's quote was significantly lower--and the best thing is he seems like a good guy. Much less painful paying someone who is likeable and very responsive. I was very pleasantly surprise how fast he got back to me and got me my data back. What a relief. My whole life on a external drive. What has the world come to? So now I make two backups to be safe--and lock one away. more

My computer that stored all of my business files recently went down. Everything was working fine one minute and the next- it was gone. I tried everything to no avail to get it up and running again but it was not meant to be. I found 2 companies in Charlotte that recover data. The first one was on Independence Blvd. It was 2:30pm when I called them, and found out that they close most days at 3pm....WHAT IS THAT??? Must be nice! I also found out they wanted to charge me $1500 to recover my data. So needless to say, I called the other company (Rewave) and spoke to someone right away. I dropped off my hard drive around 4pm and was told they would begin work on it right away. They called me at 7pm and told me they had recovered my data. I was impressed at how quickly they worked me in their schedule and finished my job. That night, I was copying my data back onto my new computer and my business was back up and running the next day. This company gives new meaning to the phrase ""poor customer service"". They don't call back when they say they will, taking days to respond to urgent requests for updates. By the way they treat customers, I'm amazed they are in business. Pros: Not sure, gave up after 10 days of poor service. Cons: Poor customer service and client communication more

I had a laptop drive that crashed with all of my Quickbooks data for my business. I was able to get service around 7pm on a Friday night. I dropped off my drive and went to get some coffee while they did an evaluation on the drive. I received a call about an hour later and they were beginning to recover my data.
