First post a bit ago: Dr. Lehman is a very good vet. She has helped me with controlling my dog's allergies. I had no success at Banfield with the same allergy problem. She sat down with me & explained pet alleriges, treatment, diagnosis & options. \r

They do offer thorough diagnosis, like most vets these days. This comes with a list of many tests or treatments they can do for the proper medical treatment & yes, these do come with a price. You are given the choice, nothing was forced on me nor do they deny basic treatment. I was told which treatments are necessary & which can wait . My dog has to have a lab test for his meds to make sure it isn't damaging his liver. Would I want them to prescribe a pill then not follow-up or care if it damages his other parts - NO. Vets now have the science & capability to treat dogs much like the science of human medicene & Polo Springs offers this. It is not what some people expect from more traditional vets nor is it what they are used to.\r

New patients owners are required to sign a form that explains treatments, billing, appointment setting, etc. & every business and medical aspect before treatment. It must be signed & agreed to before seeing the vets. Owners are given contact info and copies of everything a person signs. There are brochures in the waiting room & examination rooms explaining the type of clinic Polo Springs is and the high levels of certification they have achieved.\r

Update 3/10/09: I believe Polo Springs offered me quality care for my dog & was good while I took my dog there. In these days of tough economic times I called around summer of 08 & checked another vet for the same meds & care for my dog. Polo $140 for meds, New vet $90. Liver test Polo $100+ New vet $35. I am dismayed by the extreme difference in price & this new vet is excellent. Not sure why Polo Springs charges THAT much more for their routine care or medical issues. The certification merits higher fees? Get a 2nd opinon if merited.
Pros: Great at diagnosis
Cons: Fees are well beyond COS vet fee average
