I love these guys! They took in my water-soaked Macbook, which the Apple geniuses had refused to attempt to repair, and they totally fixed it and recovered all of my data. I will bring all of my computer problems to them. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/1/2012

Brought my business computer in for repair. They tried to up sell me on an anti virus soft ware they sell in their store. I told them, ""no"" I was happy with mine and I had never had a problem with viruses. A few days later my computer started to show pop ups that said I had some sort of trojan horse I tried to have my anti virus software remove it but it couldn't. After a few times seeing this message, I finally wrote it down on paper and called my anti virus software company. They told me it sounded like I had a viruses and I needed to have it removed. I paid $129.99 for a technician to access my computer remotely and in a few minutes he asked me what I had in my disk drive. I opened it up and found a disk labeled ""MRI front desk"" this was from PCG. I told the technician this. He said the virus was on this disk and that was why my anti virus soft ware could not remove it. He spent 3 hours scanning my computer to make sure nothing transferred. I went to PCG the next day to see if they would maybe work with me and reimburse me at least some of the money I paid for my anti virus company to figure what was going on and check my computer. They said flat out, ""no"" \r Really?? It was their fault I had this problem to begin with. Who knows, maybe they left it in there so I thought I had a virus and would bring my computer back to them to install their anti virus software they tried to sell me earlier. Not very good customer service at all....... more

Dishonest front managers, back technicians are fine 5/5/2012

The problem is that the managers that initially give you the estimates for the work misrepresent the charges for the work. The estimate appears fine on paper. Since everything on paper looks fine, I signed it. However, afterwards, all of the pricing changed drastically from the original quote. Before they let you pick up your computer, you are then told that the price for repair is in fact X instead of Y. The price for the actual repair is much higher. And if you don't like the price, you can get out of their store. And leave your computer with them and they will sell it in their shop. Must be how they end up with all of those computers for sale. I was able to reason with them. I still do not know how I got my computer out of that place. I also found out that an expensive cable that the front managers put on my bill was not even installed by the back technician! I found this out because I spoke to the technician about this. (They do not like it when the customers speak with the technicians, by the way.) This part was never ordered by them as I picked it up the same day and it was an older part but furthermore the technician confirmed himself that he did not install the part. Yet the front manager sounded like he was doing me a favor by taking it off my bill when it was never installed in my computer in the first place! So yes, it is true when people here are saying that they paid for services they never received, because that almost happened to me as well. To hear this manager tell it, he was doing me this great big favor taking this nonexistent expensive cable off my bill, the one he was holding my computer hostage over! Well, that was only PART of the disagreement. Absolutely I agree with the other reviewer who said that they are rude. However, they start out as being very nice. It is a ""good cop, bad cop"" approach. The one guy who you first talk to is like the good cop. Then the other guy who ends up screwing you over with the prices is the bad cop. I will never go back to this place and I would recommend that you steer far, far away from here. They either purposefully try to rip people off, which is what I truly believe they are doing, or the front managers are not communicating with the technicians, which I do not believe (i.e., I think they really DO communicate with the technicians as it is a very small shop so how could you not communicate with them?). It is a small shop as in, one or two technicians and one or two front managers. If you can't talk to people in a shop that size then there is a serious problem. I will also add that the one guy (it's either Paul Gamache or Brett Kappes) who really sticks it to customers with the prices (the repair prices that initially seem low, but by the time you get your computer they have magically risen much higher) does not like his job, nor does he like his customers. People like that should not be in a customer service field. The other manager just sits back and watches as this guy rips off the customer. Do NOT go here!! more

PCG-Dishonest, untrustworthy, Rude!!! 11/20/2011

There are four reviews here that rate this criminal enterprise one star, add mine and it makes it 5, one star reviews. The reason I call this a criminal enterprise is because all of us who rated this place1 star!!! have one thing in common, we paid for services that we never received. If we were robbed on the street like this by these guys they would go to jail. I was ripped off by Paul the manager for over $200. I brought them a broken computer and was given back a broken computer. Paul the manager and resident scumbag refused to refund my money. Where is the District Attorney on this matter? this is one business that needs to be busted!!! more

Best of the Best Computer Store 9/13/2011

I have purchased three trouble-free computers two used, one new from the Computer Performance Group over the past year or so. I have also had Computer Performance Group repair several computers for me that I purchased from other companies. \r \r Paul, the manager, and his team are ubelievable - professional, knowledgeable, courteous - everything you want in a computer sales and service company. Their prices are very competitive and service is top shelf. Paul is relationship oriented and makes it very easy to become a loyal customer. \r \r I can't say enough about how pleased I have been Computer Performance Group and I do not hesistate to refer others to this company. They are the best-of-the-best in my book! more

P C G COMPUTER PERFORMANCE GROUP HAS BEEN MY ""GO TO COMPUTER STORE"" SINCE 2002. I BOUGHT MY FIRST LAPTOP THERE. THEY HAVE BUILT 3 COMPUTERS FOR ME. THE LAST WAS SET UP TWO WEEKS AGO. PAUL, THE STORE MANAGER, AND SAM, ONE OF THE TECHNICIANS, DID EVERYTHING TO HELP FIND SOFTWARE DATA, SHOW ME HOW TO SET UP MY WIRELESS CARD. COST WAS MINIMAL. IF ANYONE IN THE TAMPA BAY AREA NEEDS A NEW COMPUTER OR THEIR CURRENT COMPUTER SERVICED OR UPDATED, P C G COMPUTER PERFORMANCE GROUP IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!! more

Paul Gamache, GM Tampa PCG store 6/28/2010

From the instant I walked into the store carrying my ""dead"" PC to the short time later ""THEY"" carrying my ""LIVE"" PC to the car, was a first class expierence. From the Gen. Manager, Paul Gamache to the Tec. Dustin, I was treated as a valued client in need of ""help""! That they did and more! All I can say is they provided quick, professional, cost-effective service and ""IF"" I ever need PC care or service, it will be that TEAM!\r By the way, I do not work for, nor have I ever worked for PCG. I tell you that because I just cannot understand some of the other poor comments! Pros: Quick, professional,cost-effective, just service and no B.S. Cons: Did not find any! more

Dont waste your money here 6/1/2010

I think the people who gave them 5 star are fake people created by PCG itself. I had the worst experience of my life there. They charged some $200 giving different reasons all the time. Guys there are definitely better places than PCG. No one can last long with zero customer satisfaction. Pros: I wished they had some Cons: in their term. A computer center full of viruses. more

PCG SUCKS!!! 5/31/2010

If you wanna repair your laptop, PCG is definitely not the place you wanna go to. I was told these guys are good and cheap and so I went there. This was indeed the biggest mistake of my life!! I visited them thrice with the same issue and spent almost $ 250 and still didn't get the laptop repaired. The funniest part about these guys is that they detected a new problem with my laptop every time I went there. I finally went to Best buy and without a detail diagnosis, they detected the problem with my laptop. Moreover these guys are very bad at updating you about the status of your laptop repair. You gotta keep calling them and sometimes they may just hang up on you. As your well wisher, I would recommend you to spend that extra money and go to someone who is more capable. Cons: They lack technical expertise more

Wow! 5/13/2010

Man these guys are fantastic! The sales guys at the front counter were honest and up front with me with what they suspected was wrong and how long it would take when I dropped off my laptop. The next day I received a call from the tech working on my computer, and he walked me through what was wrong and what my options were. They had me up in running again in a matter of days. A great experience overall, I recommend them to everyone I know! Pros: Honest sales guys, top notch techs, cheap prices more

Computer Partnership Sales & Services 5/10/2010

We've relied upon PCG for all our computers both personal and commercial with great success having received first class services, sales, and support.\r \r PCG is great to discuss your repair options, the costs associated with each, and knowledgeable toward other computer enhancements that would help your system run more efficiently. They also have great deals on new computers!\r \r They actively and authentically serve the computer community where the client does come first! Pros: Professional, couteous, responsive, resolution oriented Cons: There are not more of these stores available more

Best Computer Location 3/25/2010

PCG is a wonderful establishment. I recommend their services to all my friends and co-works and anyone who has any computer questions I make sure they are going to this company. Pros: Great service, Great prices!!! Cons: None - Flawless more

Horrible experiences with these cheap hacks 3/3/2010

On my first visit to PC Generations, their techs used porn movies to test my new video card, leaving the file names visible in my ""recent files"" list. No harm done I thought, and let it slide. \r \r On my second visit, the system was infected with a virus when returned to me -- with a new HD, no less. And unless a file named ""busty blond gets hammered"" is a HD diagnostic tool, they again watched porn on my system, as indicated by the ""recent files"" listing. I then noticed they had installed a refurbished drive instead of a new one, and had swapped my high speed RAM for slower cheap chips. \r \r Complaining to the store, I was given the ""oh you must be mistaken, our employees are top notch"" spiel and brushed off. They're a gaggle of cheap hacks as far as I'm concerned. Pros: Low prices (you get what you pay for tho) Cons: Unprofessional, sloppy, cheap, dishonest more

Service 3/1/2010

I dropped my laptop off for a simple replacement which is supposed to be 8 - 10 days. I call at day number thirteen and the same person who answers the phone can never give me the status of my computer.,.....four phone calls in one day and nothing. I suppose I have to pay for the rush ($100) return just to get a dang answer. Pros: n/a Cons: n/a more

Great Service at PCGenerations of South Tampa 10/28/2009

I have a Toshiba Qosmio and my high definition screen went out on it. I asked around for a good repair facility and I was refered to PCG. I spoke to the owner Paul and explained that I needed my laptop back asap. He put a rush on it and he got my laptop back to me with in a couple of days. The screen looked great, the service was quick and the over all experience was wonderful. I am a Realtor by profession and I will defiantly be refering my clients to PCG in the future. Pros: very knowledgeable, quick service, great customer service more

Wow 3/14/2009

I took my laptop to another computer store and was told I had to replace my motherboard for cost of $455 I said no and went thru a huge hassle to get it back. When I did get it the laptop back it was not even put completely back together completely. I took it to PCG just to get the data backed up and they called me and told me they had looked at the laptop and the only thing it needed was a new internal power jack and the cost was around $125. I told them I had already purchased a new laptop so they did the data backup for free and gave me $150 for my old laptop. Man I wish I would have gone to them in the first place. Pros: They know what they are doing and they are honest more

The Best in Town 3/14/2009

I have use them several times and have always had a positive experience. They are very knowledgeable and have good customer service Pros: I have had seeveral of my computers fixed Cons: They need a location closer to my house in New Tampa more
