Editorial review from Citysearch 6/10/2013

Slow service. Waiter takes food away from people while they are still eating it. Gets orders wrong. Delivers the wrong food to the wrong customer. Had to ask the waiter to take our order because several of us have jobs to return to. The place was 70% empty and it took almost an hour to get our lunch - we arrived early to avoid the crowd and it still took WAY too long. All of these things individually are not that big of a problem. Combined plus the plastic from the prepackaged food was a clincher. I examined the plastic closely. It was not a plastic wrap for storing old food in the fridge. It was not a piece of a food-handling glove. It had a melted sealed edge as you would find on a frozen dinner package... PF Chang's sells frozen dinners... That makes you wonder if they are reheating prepackaged frozen food, doesn't it? The manager, ""Patty"", was very nice when she took my plate and then she disappeared and didn't return to the table until after several people got up to go back to work. I got up to go back to work myself, giving my wife my credit card to pay for her meal and making sure that she would not leave a tip. I called the store several times trying to get a phone number for the regional manager, ""Gabrielle"" refused to give me the regional manager's name. They refuse to deal with their victims. I called the store in another location to get the regional manager, ""Tammie Diven""s, phone number - ""Danielle Lawlis"" refused to give me Tammie's number. I called the HQ and they supposedly sent Tammie an email to call me. Tammie never returned my call. I called HQ again and asked to speak to Tammie or ""Art Kilmer"" a Vice President who is Tammie's boss. Another email sent. Still no response. PF Changs refuses to treat their victims with any respect. I will never go back to PF Changs. In all I talked to five people who all refused to get me the regional manager phone number, and I just found out on Linked in that Tammie is not a regional manager, she is a market partner. Now I understand her playing up how great this crappy place is.\r \r Also. I didn't eat at PF Changs for years because I always suspected that they use MSG in their food even though they claim the don't. Of the little food I ate, I got a migraine headache.\r \r The regional manager ""Tammie Diven"" did call me back and proceeded to argue with me about the MSG that their suppliers put in the food, their prepackaged frozen food that they reheat, and she sang me a long sad song that just broke my heart about how hard the kitchen staff works slaving night and day over a hot microwave oven. The story was so touching and wonderful that I am immediately going to send the cooks a donation for all their suffering, sweat, blood and tears that they pour into their food (literally).\r \r Additional update: Art Kilmer VP of something, called me to sing another song about how great their food is and that I should not have experienced contaminated food and lousy service. Ya think? He also proceeded to argue with me when he mentioned talking to ""Chad Singer"" who is the General Manager of that store. I'm sorry. When I ask to speak to the MANAGER I expect to speak to the TOP person at that location, not to ""Patty"" or the manager of the dishwashers or any other half-a-dozen assistant managers like this is a McDonalds. And there's a clincher. PF Changs is expense fast food. As I told to ""Tammie"" and ""Art"", the worst part of this experience was after I left and five people wouldn't let me talk to the regional manager... oh... ""market partner"". My bad. more

Fun dining for the group if you've got the time and appetite 3/1/2007

P. F. Chang's, while part of a chain (I admit to an inherrent distrust of cookie-cutter chain restaurants), is a fun restaurant -- especially if you go with a group. I would recommend dining with a group so everyone can sample a variety of dishes.\r \r Even though P. F. Chang's is a chain, the food is very good to excellent and doesn't taste ordinary. The menu is quite extensive, so be prepared to spend plenty of time browsing the choices. I would definitely order an appetizer. The chicken lettuce bundles are especially good if you've got a crowd. For the entrees, I am partial to the seafood dishes. Be careful with the spicy dishes -- there have been a couple of times I've ordered spicy dishes that poured on the heat a little too thickly (and I am not someone who is averse to heat). Be prepared for the condiments they bring as dipping sauces, which include a couple of dipping sauces and vinegar so you can adjust the sauce to your personal taste. I have to admit, however, that I almost never use the sauces. The foods are always sufficiently flavorful for my tastes without having to add on.\r \r Be sure to have hot tea. P. F. Chang's offers a good variety of teas, and it's served up piping hot in a personal iron tea kettle.\r \r Service is friendly, and usually quite efficient. I have never found my servers to be cloying or annoying. The only downside is the LONG waits during peak periods. P. F. Chang's is not recommended for pre-concert dining on weekends -- you can expect a wait of 30 minutes or longer.\r \r The restaurant is beautiful with its statuary and comfortable seating. The lighting effectively makes the restaurant seem more intimate than it is, given its size. Seating is very comfortable, and you're not crowded. Be prepared for noise at busy times. Pros: Good food, good location in Utica Square, extensive menu Cons: It's a chain. Be prepared for LONG waits at peak times. more

Fantastic hostess , chefs,and waitstaff 1/29/2007

Food is so great!! Even if you are eating healthy, there are fantastic options for you here! I have never had a bad experience,i.e:food quality, waitstaff quality, service! Very Vegan-friendly,and they will even cook to your specified wants and/or needs, just tell them your specifications(no oil,salt,seasonings,gluten,etc)\r They treat you like royality, like you are a regular person, not a customer or table number! And the chefs are so precise! We must give the chefs a hand, since they are the ones actually preparing our food items.\r I recommend the shanghai noodles, cucumbers, Buddahs feat, or seared tuna(being health-concious). My husband looves the orange-peel chicken.\r You will not be dissapointed!\r Ohh yes, make sure to share The Wall Of Chocolate dessert, or else you must have a gigantic appetite!! Pros: Knowlegable waitstaff, quick service, excellent food Cons: MUST have reservations more

Good for group dining and parties 12/22/2006

I like this place, but it isn't my favorite Asian location.\r The open atmosphere can make it difficult to hear conversations across tables.\r The service is great, the food is very good, the price is fair.\r As chain restaurants go, this is one of the better ones. Pros: Tasty food Cons: Noisy more

It is what it is 3/9/2006

The food is good. Everyone knows because everyone has been. I just want to make a request. Can I get one more waiter to say, ""Hi, my name is [X] and I'll be taking care of you today. Can I start you out with some drinks or maybe an appetizer like lettuce wraps?"" What is this? Is there some script that everyone has to memorize when they sign up? more

Excellent Choice 1/17/2005

Great service, great wine selection, great food not necessarily in that order. I have found nothing on the menu that I haven't liked. Not really a place to take the children along. Can sometimes be a little loud as the seating is very open, which in my opinion, makes it great for groups to get together and have some fun. Pros: Food, Wine, Service more
