Moody Gardens Does Not Suck! This person Apparently did NOT BOTHER to voice his complaints to the staff. FROM MY EXPERIENCE IT IS ABOVE MOST ATTRACTIONS!

Irate customer? 5/6/2012

My best friends nephew is employed at Moody Gardens and because of little knowledge of his co-workers I got the boy in trouble behind an employee disscount. I ask for my reciept and asked a simple question, the answer was very un- professionel , when I was about to walk away the cashier was making fun of me. After I asked for the manager and the phone number to upper managment the young guy (manager) beat me to it and called his manager and complaint about me how irate I was. Her nephew was called to the office and I feel really bad about that, he had nothing to do with the incident. An irate person would cursed and screamed at these un-professional employees , I can't believe what some people say to save their own hat. Sad very sad, hopefully I can get the number and call myself and explain what happened that day! And hopefully better trained personal will be serving customers. Better service more$$$$$$$$$$. more

Aquarium is the only good thing 8/21/2011

Everything here is pricey as excpected. But only one attraction is actually worth the price, the aquarium. It's large and awesome, with lots of very close up views with tanks spanning several stories featuring penguins, sharks, seals and more. Many aquariums don't even have penguins and seals and those were our favorite. The rainforest walkthrough was very short and it is so hot in there and humid (it is a rainforest after all), that you find yourself rushing through there just to get out of that heat. There were butterflies, a few parrots, a couple monkeys and a chinese alligator (which looks like a baby alligator, very small). AVOID THE RIDEFILM. It costs $8 per person for a 5 minute ride that you will be standing in line a long time for. They kep pushing back the start time for some reason and we waited in line for almost an hour, which I didn't understand. It was not worth the wait or the money, it was the lmaest exscuse for a ride I've ever seen. The seats barely move and it's a very short happy feet film, every kid in the room with us was like ""that's it?"" once it was over. Just go for the aquarium. more

Great Imax 2/2/2010

We always enjoy the Imax 3D Theater at Moody Gardens. It's always clean and the theater monitors are on top of things. more

Moody Gardens is a Rip Off 5/31/2009

Moody Gardens is overpriced and really sucked. The rain forest wasn't worth the price you pay and the Aquamarine is so small and not worth it. Also watch to make sure your not charged for other peoples things to your room. And whatever you do make sure you don't shop at the gift shop it is so expensive and not worth it. Also know you are going to pay huge amounts of gratuity they don't let you add your tip they choose it for you. Stay at the Hilton at least their you get service this place for customer service sucks and their staff has attitudes. It is not worth the time or the money and the food sucks and is over priced. more

Poor Customer Service 8/20/2008

Moody Gardens is a great place for children and families who love the idea of having a rainforest and an aquarium in one location. However, the employees that work there can sometimes be rude, unfriendly and unprofessional. In addition, make sure you get to Moody Gardens early in the day to enjoy all of the pyramids! They are suppose to close at 8:00 p.m., but we saw some employees closing at 7:20 and 7:45. p.m. Pros: exhibits Cons: pricey and employees are rude! more

Ride film is horible 8/15/2008

We paid $56 to see the ride film. What a waste of money, waited in line for 15 minutes for a 6 minute film that looked like the films we watched on projectors in the 1980s. The seats are had, ripped, and worn out. Went to the aquarium, it was nice but way over priced. more

Great time for dicounts 7/4/2008

Moody Gardens offers almost half off tickets for all attractions after 6pm! Not only are you getting a great discount but the parking lot isn't as packed and there are no long lines for the attractions! So for those who are looking to save a little money just wait til 6pm! more

Titanic - disappointed 6/16/2008

We were extremely disappointed. we will NOT waste our time or money at Moody, but will go to Houston to the museum.\r This was a walk through exhibit, but one of the employees kept trying to impress us with his "knowledge." Boring! more

Don't waste your money 6/3/2008

Moody Gardens Titanic exhibit, left me very dissapointed, and ticked that I had wasted this much money on lhow ittle was displayed regarding the ship. You can find more online, or on Discovery Channel! \r \r The staff were not that friendly, or helpful. \r \r I won't waste my money at MG again... more

Great for family and friends 11/8/2007

I have been taking family and friends to Moody Gardens for many years. When I first visited it back in 1994, they only had one pyramid which contained the rain forest and the main building with the IMAX theater. Now they have three pyramids, a hotel and spa and a 4D virtual ride. This place just keeps on getting better with each visit. more

Good, but not at the price you pay! 8/31/2006

I have to say that we loved Moody Gardens! It was a nice family outing and I'd go again if it weren't so darn expensive! If it were actually available at the price listed above (which is currently showing $14.95-I plan to write in to make sure they correct that), it would be great! I'd say that $15-20 is a fair price for a day out at Moody Gardens. However, the fact that it actually costs twice that is what makes it a poor value. The $4.95-$14.95 listed above is only for separate attractions; that price would not allow you to see the whole park, only 1 part, such as the Aquarium, the Beach or one of the theaters. Entrance to Moody Gardens as a whole costs $40.00! Now when you're getting into the range of Six Flags or Schliterbahn, or a similar attraction, you'd better have as much to offer. Moody Gardens does not. I'd recommend it at a lower price but until they fix their prices, I'd say you'd find a better value elsewhere. Pros: Impressive, nice facilities. Cons: Way too expensive! more

Great For Kids 8/15/2006

If it's just adults going, you probably won't have that much fun. All I know is that kids have a blast from this place. There are a lot of attractions to see here. They have their famous IMAX theater here. If you live far away, I wouldn't recommend going all the way to Galveston just to see the Moody Gardens. Perhaps if you were going to the beach anyway then you can make a stop here before or after. It's pretty pricey, but once again, kids will love it. more

Too much money 11/18/2005

I went to moody gardens a few years ago and was not impressed. the admission was steep. For the price I paid I guess I was expecting Disney world. It is nothing like disney world. they have an aquarium, a rainforest, they have an IMAX, and a few other little things. It may have improved in the past few years. I know this holiday season they are having a festival of lights and that sounds fun if the price is decent. But over all, I would not recommend unless you are totally bored. more

Great Place! 9/10/2005

Moody Gardens offer entertaining fun for the whole family. There are many activities: the Colonel (paddle boat), a clean, private beach, a rainforest pryamid, a science museum pyramid, a top-notch aquarium, an IMAX, and a ride-film. They have an all-day package to all the amusements for a reasonably good price. PROS: very fun! CONS: none more

Fun Place! 9/5/2005

Finally made it out to Moody Gardens in Galveston. Glad I made the drive. What a spectacular place nestled in Galveston. I dont think this place gets enough feedback. It took us 5 years to make it out there. I highly recommend this to families. Our kids really enjoyed the 3 D film on sea life. We also loved the butterfly garden. There is so much to do there. Be careful budget wise because every activity is priced seperate and can get expensive. Easy access from I45 Exit west beach and stay to the right. Follow the signs. more

Family Fun not to far from home 9/5/2005

The IMAX theatre and IMAX Ridefilm Theater is a great place to take kids when you are on Galveston Island. The Aquarium has many exhibits, and they offer very educational lessons while you are viewing the animals. The rain forest is muggy, but the birds are beautiful. There are great places to take pictures, and the colors are exquisite. Last time we were there, a couple was taking wedding pictures there. The price is pretty steep, but check the internet for specials and group discounts. more

A great place to bring the family. 8/14/2005

Moody Gardens is one of the best vacation spots in Galveston. The aquarium is the best that I have seen thusfar, and the IMAX films are also great. The only reason I did not give this a 5 is that the beach is too small, and the Science place is sub-par. PROS: Acquarium CONS: Listed above and expensive more

LOVE LOVE LOVE Moody Gardens! 8/10/2005

We love moody gardens and go at least 1-2 times a year, this is a wonderful place if you have a family that enjoys getting out and seeing new things. The aquarium is awesome along with everything else they offer, the package deal is better than individual tickets. I recommend this to EVERYONE! PROS: FUN FUN FUN CONS: Nothing more

Great Day out with a 2yr old! 7/26/2005

My family visited Moody Gardens for vacation. We were traveling w/ grandma, mom and dad, and a 2 1/2 yr old. The place was great for everyone. We were able to buy tickets in advance, so all we had to do was show up, pick up our tickets and enjoy the day. There were so many exhibits, my son was never bored. The discovery pyramid is great for kids, as is the playground outside. We went before the beach was open, but it looked incredible. The Paddleboat was a blast as well. The staff of all the facilities were very accomodating, and were there to make sure you had a good time, with no problems. Moody Gardens was very clean, safe, and very easily accessable for everyone. The place is beautiful and was well worth the $30 per ticket! PROS: Great value for the money-all day for $32, and visit every exhibit! CONS: The boat ride was a little long to keep small kids happy! more
