We had fun here. It wasn't the best, but we really enjoyed the break from the pyramids. We brought our swimsuits and changed into them then played for a while and changed back and were able to go back to the pyramids. They have big changing rooms that make it easy. We will definitely be back to Palm Beach this summer. They have a water spray park, a few pools and my dd's favorite the big octopus slides :-)

Finding batting cages on the island is difficult, and in fact, I believe this is the only establishment that has them. Prices are reasonable, I think it's 20 pitches for a dollar, or something like that. The equipment is decent for the price. There is also a mini golf course that is OK, but not spectactular. Some areas are a little rough, but all in all, this is a fun place to spend an evening. Be sure to wear some off though as there is a mosquito haven off to the left.
Bottom Line: Fun place to spend a few hours without spending too many dollars.

Nice Beach with inside & outside showers, shops, food, volleyball and playground. Great for a family picnic! Beach umbrella & chair rentals available but you can bring your own as well! (We do!) We've vacationed on beaches in Cancun, The Bahamas, Jamaica, South Carolina And Florida and I still favor Galveston Island!!! You won't find an island with a more interesting history! Galveston Island is fun anytime of year!!!
Pros: Beauty, Amenities, Good Parking

Yea! So glad this question was asked. We are so excited that Schliterbahn waterpark just opened in Galveston and will be a year-round attraction! We haven't visited yet, but will be buying our yearly passes soon! Can you believe that not only do we get one of the top rated waterparks in the world so close, but it's 1/2 indoor too! so it can be closed in the winter and you can still have fun! You HAVE to go here, we have friends that have visited and have said it's awesome...I'll add a link for you to check it out!

The bowlling alley is just like any other bowling alley, complete with the odor of foot-stank and smoking. The equipment is in good condition, and although not the most modern of bowling alleys, still a great place to have some fun. Whether you're a pro, or just screwing around after knocking back a few at 21, you'll have a good time here. Food and bar services are offered if you want that sort of thing. Prices are good and most nights it's easy to get a lane. I believe there are leagues, but you'd have to contact the alley for more information on that.
Bottom Line: Good alley to kick back with friends and bowl a few frames.

Lovely lot of horses here. Pretty much a horse for riders of any ability.
The group horseback stroll down the beach was nice but our first year we forgot the sunscreen and by the time our half hour jaunt was over with......we were crispy critters!
They have a guide ride in front and a guide in back of the group, I suppose to keep track of the group and keep the horses in line.
Unfortunately the guys in charge didn't seem to be too keen on anyone galloping or even trotting the horses, I suspect it has something to do with liability issues and concerns with rider's ability.
They also don't allow you to take the horses into the water but if the horses go in there on their own accord it appears to be allowable as long as they stay shallow.
Cost for the approx half hour beach stroll was $20.00 each. They will take pictures if you wish and then charge you extra for them but they did allow us to take our own pictures with our own camera.
Bottom Line: Nice scenery with the ocean front stroll on horseback and great for the average inexperienced rider but if you are experienced and looking for something you have more control over and the ability
to jump, trot, canter, gallop or any other freedoms with a horse-then the group rides here are probably not for you.

We have seen a few movies here and while the 3D part is really neat the movies are a tad cheesy. I wish they would show something better. And the few times they have, they charged extra for it. We really did enjoy the Santa movie they had there though, it was cute. We've seen the dinosaur one a few times. It's a good theater, just needs better selection of movies.

More
This museum is good, but not great. There are some interesting exhibits, but it certainly does not live up to expectations for a railroad museum. The plaster molds of individuals are rather creepy to behold, and the entire idea of the building being business office space takes much of the lure of a 'museum' away. You can still see interesting sets of china and historical railcars though, so it's not a complete waste of time. Prices are reasonable, so if you're bored, go for it.
Bottom Line: Not the greatest, but still a viable option if you're bored.

We liked this the first time we went, but then it changed into a putt putt course. It was really cheesy. All the holes were in this one room and I felt bad for the people that actually paid to get into it. Then we went back and last time it was something different again. I wasn't overly impressed with the discovery pyramid. IF you are paying for attractions seperately, skip this one.
