We had fun here. It wasn't the best, but we really enjoyed the break from the pyramids. We brought our swimsuits and changed into them then played for a while and changed back and were able to go back to the pyramids. They have big changing rooms that make it easy. We will definitely be back to Palm Beach this summer. They have a water spray park, a few pools and my dd's favorite the big octopus slides :-)

We Love Moody Gardens. The prices are a tad high, but they have day passes and their yearly passes are great prices if you live nearby. We have been here numerous times and have always been pleased. We love everything from the paddlewheel boat to Palm Beach. This is a place that we will be visiting for many years to come!

Finding batting cages on the island is difficult, and in fact, I believe this is the only establishment that has them. Prices are reasonable, I think it's 20 pitches for a dollar, or something like that. The equipment is decent for the price. There is also a mini golf course that is OK, but not spectactular. Some areas are a little rough, but all in all, this is a fun place to spend an evening. Be sure to wear some off though as there is a mosquito haven off to the left.
Bottom Line: Fun place to spend a few hours without spending too many dollars.

This trip will be unforgettable always to me. This was a beautiful building and the tour was great. The reason it will be unforgettable though is because my daughter was under 1yr old and had just learned how to squeal. The whole tour she was squealing loudly to hear the echo. We were laughing so hard. I felt bad for her interrupting the tour, but it was so adorable. The tour is great though.

More
Schlitterbahn Galveston Island water park will be constantly compared to the original Schlitterbahn site in New Braunfels, no doubt... I've never been to that huge park in central TX as of yet, but still know it is hugely popular state and region-wide.
The Galveston park on its own, however, seems to provide a great amount of summer day fun...that is, until noon rolls around...
Here's the deal: the variety of attractions are great - there are many slides, more than a few of which are intense and thrilling. There are attractive zero-entry "beaches" connected by NBGS Internationals popular Transportainment river system.
If you and your family and/or friends are smart, arrive at the park no later than 8:30am (on the days the park opens at 9am), and buy your tickets ahead of time online. I think the season passes are frankly about $25.00 more than they should be, unfortunately, but if patrons who have them trek to the park enough times, the cost is obvously worthwhile... I think the day tickets/two-day packages are reasonable.
On more than a few occasions, my friends and I arrived very early in the morning, we spent about 2 hours enjoying all the attractions without any or much of a wait, and would leave just before or after the lunch hour. The park got pretty swamped by 11am, which forced us to really only be able to enjoy the river system (definitely the most relaxing, enjoyable attraction, worth the price of admission anyway in and of itself...). When we left around the lunch hour on more than two different occasions, the line to buy tickets/enter the park extended past the property grounds - HUNDREDS of people in line, coolers and whining kids in-tow, just to enter. A really miserable sight.
Bottom line - great, clean, fun, attractive park. Come early. Leave early.
Pros: Clean, attractive, and thrilling
Cons: HUGE crowds after 11am

We went in to kill some time and decided to go and see this movie. We were actually really surprised at how interesting it was and had me near tears in parts just imaging what the people that lived there went through. This is a must for anyone that is visiting Galveston. It gives you a much better respect for the island and island life.

Wow, this is a great place to visit! Whether local or tourist, everyone should give this seaport museum a go. This is where the new official Tall Ship of Texas is located, the Elissa. It's a beautiful piece of sailing history, and you can see it up close and personal. Things can get a little hectic if you are trying to visit on days that the cruise ships are boarding, so either come early or choose a different day.
Bottom Line: Do it, you'll love it.

If you love musical theater, this will not disappoint! I was surprised by the talent in these musicals. Students and aspiring actors are cast from around the country to fill the roles in these shows. Great voices, great dancing, great acting! They have it all. The shows have moved into their new home at Moody Gardens, which takes away from the outdoor theater experience, but still-awesome shows await all theater lovers and novices alike.
