Monumental Hotel-Orlando

Rented several rooms. We had kids and teens with us. We went to Halloween Horror Nights for the weekend and it was located just minutes away from Universal. The hotel was clean and the staff was very pleasant. We booked a room with a king size bed and the room was spacious, and the bed was surprisingly VERY comfortable!!!! The room was large and the extra's like the fridge were nice. The bathroom was also very spacious. The room was spotless and the decor was very nice. We all could not believe this hotel was so cheap!!! Although we were told it was sold out, it was so quiet you felt there were barely any other guests. Although we didn't use the pool area, it seemed very nice. We are all going to definitely return again next year!!! Overall, for the price, you can't beat it!!! more

We recently returned to stay again at the Monumental Hotel, using it as our base while in Orlando for a week. As with our previous visit, (back in the Crowne Plaza days) the hotel was fantastic. We love that the hotel is really quiet - we saw few other guests throughout our stay and it often felt like we had the place to ourselves. The pool and hot tub are gorgeous and there are free cabanas to use for shade. The pool area is really relaxing - perfect to come back to after busy days in the parks! All of the staff were helpful and pleasant and we had absolutely no problems with any aspect of our stay. Housekeeping did a great job and the hotel was always clean and looked nicely maintained. Our room had a massive, comfy king bed and the room had everything we needed, including a handy fridge for keeping drinks. We really like the hotel's location on the quieter, (and in our opinion, nicer) southern end of International Drive. The only slight drawback is that there aren't any restaurants or bars within walking distance - you really do need to have a car if you are staying here. But all of the tourist attractions, plus great shopping and places to go in the evening are within easy driving distance. The hotel does have its own bar and restaurant, but with so many options, we never used them. They always seemed to be very quiet and as with the hotel itself, not the kind of place that people who want a lively, party atmosphere would like. But for us, the hotel was (almost) perfect and I would recommend it to anyone with use of a car who wants a relaxing and peaceful base in a handy location. more

We got a good deal on this room, a last minute Hotwire thing. It lived up to the other reviews... my main concern when I stay somewhere is the cleanliness and the SMELL (I can't stand smelly places, whether perfumey or stinky). Anyway, this place was very clean, and had only clean smells (yeah!). The fitness room is small but adquate (more than basic hotels), the pool was nice. It is close to I-Drive and Universal, and generally right in the center of Orlando. We will definitely stay here again, and I say go for it! more

This is a beautiful hotel and perfect for families. My only problem was that I had no car. You need a car to get most places. The shuttle to Disney or Universal seems high. The International trolley is cheap, but takes a long time plus you have to cross a 4 lane highway (with no traffic signal) to access the stop. I spent a lot of money on taxi fares. If I had a car, this would have been a perfect stay. more

The Crowne Plaza was just a great place to stay for our family of four. Large rooms with ceiling fans that were very clean. The pool was nice, our boys used it plenty. The bathrooms are large, with a great shaving or makeup mirror which is lighted. The windows have white wooden shutters and our room also had a porch. The rooms have an Hawaiian flare to them and tastefully done. We also had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and a small kitchen sink in room. We have stayed at the Contemporary Resort, Polynesian, and Wilderness Lodge in the past. We will return here again. more

I must say the Crowne Plaza Resort was an excellent place to stay. We stumbled upon it because no other hotels had openings and I am so happy that we had this opportunity. The room was beautiful and relaxing. The pool area was such an enjoyable family experience. I would definetly recommend staying here and hope to come back ourselves to relive the royal treat we experienced. Great Place!!! more

We stayed here for two nights. The resort and room was spotless. I have uploaded pictures of the new pool area. They have the new Zero entry pool. I was concerned after seeing several postings concerning construction...but it is finished and is beautiful. They even have covered areas that you can lay under if you don't want to be in the sun. The pool heaters were not operational at the time we were there. Very quiet area. more

Very pleasantly surprised. We've already booked another stay there!! My husband's 35th birthday happened to conincide with Father's Day and since I had made reservations at our favorite orlando restaurant for brunch, we decided to make a mini-trip qand stay overnight in Orlando. We live about an hour and a half away, so we didn't want to spend too much, but we wanted to be near Sea World since we had free passes. I came across the Monumental Hotel on Hotels.com and after reading the reviews i decided to take a chance. We were very happy with our decision to stay at this hotel. Formerly a Crown Point hotel located about a mile and a half south of Sea World on International Drive, the rooms are large and well appointed with toiletries from Bath and Body Works. the beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms very clean and the common areas of the hotel were very well maintained. Although we did not use the pool area, with the free cabanas and the large pool, it was very inviting looking (I forgot my swimsuit!). There is a $6.75 charge per day, per room for internet service and 2 bottles of water, but I had no issues with that. They have a full service restaurant on site, but we did not eat there. This would be a great place for families to stay, or for a nice romantic get away. The hotel was quiet and out of the way, so a rental car is a necessity, unless you want to walk about 2 miles down the road to other restaurants or to Sea World itself. I've already booked another room there for our stay next month to celebrate our anniversary! " more

We stayed two weeks ago 3 days at this Crowne Plaza and all I can tell you is that it was the best choice we could make. It is at the end of IDrive in a quiet location just off all the confusion and noise. Plenty of open space, green lawns, great swimming pools heated and opened till late in the evening! We got a room with two double beds in one of the buildings, it was immaculate, silent, spacious even with touches of luxury, the bathroom was also great. Parking is free and plenty of space. All the property is very well looked after and every thing is in its place. At a very affordable price what more could you want for a perfect family vacation???? more

Booked this hotel through Hotwire and received an excellent rate. The Monumental is on the southern quieter end of International drive. Although out of the hustle and bustle there are still many restaurants, shopping and conveniences close by, although a car in this area is recommended, as there is not much within walking distances. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. There is a large pool and outdoor hot tub. The staff is friendly and always willing to help with any request. The restaurant only appeared to be open for breakfast and I think this may have been due to limited amount of guests. The hotel itself felt empty. This is probably due to the current economy as the parks (Disney, Universal and SeaWorld) all were much less crowded than usual. I would highly recommend the Monumental as it maintains the perfect balance between value and convenience. more

We stayed at the monumental this past Summer in July! And it was very nice! Very clean and easy to find! We got a great deal through expedia.com but I would have felt it reasonable to even pay more then what we did! We first started our trip in Florida out in Miami stayed there fro 2 nights then stayed at the monumental for 4 nights and then ended in Tampa for another night out of all the places we stayed out THe monumental in Orlando was the best! Pool was nice, the rooms were very cozy, they use bath and body works products which I love! It was conveniently located to a lot of gas stations, convenience stores, restaurants. which by the way they had a little shell gas station with a dunkin doughnuts attached which also had a little Italian deli and pizzeria attached! they made wonderful food! And we made a daily stop at the Dunkin doughnuts for breakfast every day before heading out! but there is also a denny's TGIFridays, wendy's mcdonalds all very near! Also close to seaworld (which was not worth it if you ask me) Auqautica which is awesome and the other water park which I can't remember the name. also only about a 10-15 min drive away from Disney The only improvement I would make If I could would be like a free breakfast included, but but other then that a very nice CLEAN, affordable place to stay! will stay there 100% for sure if We go back to Orlando! more

My husband and I spent 2 nights, 3 days at the Monumental Hotel and we LOVED it! The staff are super friendly, it is very clean, quiet and romantic! I highly recommend this hotel for couples on a romantic getaway :) more

This "is" a hidden gem. We all seek for the big name hotel chains when traveling to Orlando area. Well let me tell you, I can't believe people have not heard of the hotel. I almost don't to spill the beans. Nice, nice hotel. I know, I know. It not right next to Disney or all the other parks. That's ok because it clean and super quiet. AND cheap. We spent $70 each night. Nice HEATED pool and spa (was down when we were there) but that's ok because we were too busy to go in (Sea World). So if you're looking for a nice, clean and quiet hotel AWAY from all International Drive crap, then this is your place. more

Great location to all theme parks, shopping mall and restaurants. This is the place to be if you like it quiet, friendly, clean and affordable. We will be back there for our next trip to Orlando. more

The hotel was clean. The rooms were large and comfortable. No wireless internet in the rooms. The pool is large and comfortably warm. Nice jacuzzi. Very nice hotel. more

The hotel was extremely nice! Clean and comfort are a priority for most travelors and it definitely has those qualities. A huge swimming pool, for those that love the water, a Plus! Overall, very satisfied. I would stay again. more
