I went in for a walk in appt in Sept 08, and got a woman named either Betsy or Margaret (sorry I can't remember which.) She did an excellent job waxing my brows-probably one of the best waxes I have ever had. When it came time to cut my hair, she asked open ended questions about my hair texture, routine, and what I wanted the end result to be. Since she did so great w/ the wax, I trusted her. We agreed on long layers starting at my chin. I warned her that my hair is wavy, and tends to bounce up once dry.
Everything seemed like it was going well, and then right at the end, she took a handful of my hair and held it over my head.... and then just went nuts w/ the scissors and chopped in additional layers. The end result is that I looked like a mushroom-- I had ONE thick layer starting at my NOSE (not chin as we discussed) and then the rest of my hair was 4 inches longer. Seriously, a mushroom! For 6 months, I have had to get cuts to even out the ""layer"" and make it blend in w/ the rest of my hair!! Worst. Cut. EVER!
I called the salon after to let them know, and the person didn't even apologize. I asked if the sylist that I had was new, and she said that she was new to that location, but had been cutting hair for 20 years. Then she asked if I wanted to keep my next appt or cancel. I cancelled. I have been so annoyed, and didn't bother to call the corp office b/c of the indifference I received when I called the salon. But I""m still annoyed, and I want to share the experience so that others can avoid it.
Pros: walk ins, price based on level stylist
Cons: stylist didn't listen to my needs
