McLendon's has been a favorite in Renton for almost forever -- full of useful deals and supplies 3/9/2006

The onsite staff at McLendon's always has an answer about how to, what to get, what's the best product, you name it. Wonderful. They have nuts and bolts, old plumbing kits for toilets, lighting, the best treats for animals and birds, good healthy garden plants, paint. It would be easier to say what they don't have. They help load bulk items like manure or lumber. Lots of parking and even more stock now that they moved into the former K-Mart. more

Best Service 9/17/2005

Mclendon's is the place to go to for all your hardware needs. Everytime I go in there, all the employees are always very friendly and helpful, I don't think I could walk a couple of aisles without having a a friendly smile from the employees or have them ask if I need assistance. Not only are they friendly, but they are knowledgable as well. My husband wanted to tile our kitchen, and went in for some information. The staff in the tile department gave my husband some great tips, and just suggested we browse through their books section for more ideas, and he told us we should browse the books first and not hasten to buy so quickly, so I felt that the employee had our best interest in mind instead of forcing us to buy a book. more

Best place to go for advice and all the tools and parts you need 8/31/2005

This home hardware store is found in 6 different locations in the Puget Sound area, but really is the place to go. They've moved twice in my lifetime, once after the store burned down, now into the old K-Mart shopping center. They have everything including garden nursery items -- I often find berry, grape and other bare root stock here for less. They give advice like which deck stain, which sander, and parts for a toilet. more

A true neighborhood store 8/20/2005

Mclendon has been a stable fixture in downtown Renton for a very long time. There are many reason for their longevity. First, its knowledgeable and down to earth employees make the prospect of entering a hardware store oddly appealing. Secondly, the selection is vast and seems almost too vast when you are looking for a certain nail or piece of wood. Last, the prices are lower than at many of the national chain stores in the area. Visit Mclendon in Renton or on line next time you venture out to a hardware store. more

Good Hardware Store 7/2/2005

In the past, I've driven all the way to Renton to go to McLendon Hardware. It's not always as friendly as Home Depot, but the staff seems very knowledgeable. We did much of our renovation shopping there. Their selection of baseboards was better than other stores. We did get one can of paint that was not properly mixed, but that's our only complaint. more

Best Hardware Store in Seattle Area 6/15/2005

Mclendon Hardware is worth the drive to Renton. By far the best hardware store in the greater Seattle area, Mclendon is perfect for the novice who needs good advice and for the person who could spend a lifetime in hardware stores. And Mclendon is the real thing. Why go to Home Depot and get scared when you could go to Mclendon? more
