Unprofessional and unresponsive: They claim to be destination wedding experts. Had to contact several times to get an appointment. Scheduled an appointment with Terrah. My partner and I both took off work and drove 45 minutes to meet Terrah at the Plano office of Legacy Travel. We were informed tha tTerrah was not there that day. We did I not receive a phone call or email before the appointment. The staff in the office seemed unconcerned and disinterested about the missed appointment.\r \r The Plano office is very unclean, dark and dingy. There are leaves and debris on the floor and the tables and desks are dusty and dirty. I am glad we were spared working with such an unprofessional business. more

Erin, at Legacy Travel took care of all the details for our trip to Cancun this late Sept. From finding resorts, air fare, dress requirements, etc, all details were taken care of with reminder calls before the trip and e mails during the trip to follow up after our trip. All details were taken care of even to location of our shuttle and how to identify it. The resort was perfect and if it were not for airport security and customs, we'd be at Erin's desk about every three months. I would not consider a trip without contacting Erin at Legacy Travel in Plano.\r \r SC more

I recently contacted Legacy after looking at online websites for a vacation to Mexico. Audrey did an awesome job in helping us decide on a resort, get the trip booked, including transfers to the resort from the airport. Everything was very easy and worry-free. It made the trip much more enjoyable. She even sent an email while we were out of the country to ensure everything was going well. When we returned, I received a phone call the following Monday to make sure our trip was perfect. We will be using them for all of our future trips! more

I 1st contacted Legacy Travel in May 2012 and spoke with Erin Alliston. I usually check a company's reviews before I commit to doing business w/them--for some reason this time I did not (big mistake).\r \r We (my mom & I) had been on 11 cruises and have been on too many to count non-cruise vacations. We've always researched and booked w/out a travel agent. This time I thought because we had never been to Europe we needed the benefit of an experienced agent/agency.\r \r I shared w/Erin that my mom would turn 70 on August 29, 2013 and I wanted to take her to Europe, preferably\r by cruise as it's our favorite way to travel.\r \r I booked the 7 night cruise leaving from Rome (Civitavecchia) Italy. Later I added the flight and 2 night hotel stay. \r \r As life would have it I had a major disruption....I had to purchase a new car. I shared my concern, with Erin, that I was experiencing a major financial setback. I asked about options including postponing the trip for a couple weeks. Erin advised that this would be even more financially devastating.\r \r On Friday July 26th I asked Erin to check into the cancellation fees and get back with me. On Saturday July 27th I received an email from Erin stating our cruise had been cancelled and we should receive the refund w/in 3-6 weeks. You can imagine that I was livid at the blatant disregard to follow instructions. Erin was able to rebook with Royal Caribbean but advised that the flight/hotel vendor would probably charge $150 pp to rebook. I was extremely confused....why should I pay a rebooking fee when I didn't authorize a cancellation. Erin called back to say they would ""eat"" the $300 rebooking fee. \r \r The following week I received an email from Erin advising that an amount had been deducted, from account that had been on file, but not to worry because as soon as the error was realized the amount was reversed. I was confused again....how is it that the trip is paid in full and someone is still accessing the card I had on file. When I didn't see the reversal in 2 days I reached out to Erin. Erin responded that all I needed to do was call the bank, explain what they did and the bank would reverse the charge. That's not what the bank did-- the money was in the account on the 5th business day (this included a weekend). No apology was offered for this inconvenience.\r \r About a week before the trip my mom inquired about transfers from the airport to the hotel, the hotel to the port and the port to the airport. Before I called Erin I called the hotel in Rome. No transfers had been arranged--so I arranged them. Additionally, I researched getting from the hotel to the port by train. Wait a minute that sounds like things a travel agent would do....maybe I missed my calling. I did ask Erin about transfers from the port to the airport (after all in the past 11 cruises we always included it). Erin's email advised we'd have to get them on board. When we called Royal Caribbean to take care of the transfers before we left we were told our travel agent would need to make those arrangements. \r \r Finally, vacation time arrives. We had a great 2 days in Rome. We arrived at Civitavecchia by train--no problems. We were ushered to the priority check-in only to be told that we were not in the system -- there was no reservation for us. We sat nearby as our fellow cruisers boarded the ship. At about 3:20 pm we were told they could check us in. I asked ""what happened""? The answer? ""Your agency did something"". \r \r Our trip was absolutely amazing--- mom and I made some awesome unforgettable memories. \r \r Legacy travel agency and specifically Erin Alliston did nothing to contribute to our pleasant memories. I do not recommend them. \r \r \r more

We love Legacy Travel! We used them to book our honeymoon and they made everything so easy for us! We worked specifically with Terrah (who is absolutely amazing by the way) and since we knew nothing about the place we were going, she was willing to customize everything for us based on her personal experience and what she knew about me and my husband. Our honeymoon was perfect and we have Terrah and the Legacy Travel team to thank :) I highly recommend them for any travel plans you make in the future! more

I have know idea what the people on this site are talking about when they rate Legacy travel. The experience I had with them was awesome! Of course when you have a large group sometimes a few details can be lost. I can trully say that every concern that I had was addressed and settled favorably! Legacy travel really cares about their clients! I experienced that care personally. Terrah and her Manager Cathi were both engaged to ensure I had a wonderful wedding! Thank you Legacy for making my wedding the best I could ever hope for! more

I absolutely LOVE Legacy Travel! Hannah Cote, my travel agent, is amazing. She coordinated the most wonderful trip for us to Tulum, Mexico. We really wanted a destination wedding and she set up the most perfect event. From the travel - air fare to Cancun, transportation to the resort and the entire resort experience - every thing was perfectly coordinated and amazing. Everyone at Legacy Travel is super friendly, nice, and willing to help. I have referred several friends who have also loved Legacy. I will be using them again. more

I will recommend this travel agency to 6/1/2012

I will recommend this travel agency to everybody that I know. Erin , my travel agent , helped me plan the perfect vacation for a Mother/daughters trip. She was very helpful & patient throughout our entire experience. The day before our departure for Mexico I discovered that the resort had put us in a smoking suite..which was not what we wanted. After calling Erin at Legacy , she assured me that they would do everything possible to resolve the issue. Several hours later , I received a call from Erin stating that we had been moved to a non-smoking suite. She was always available to answer questions & to make recommendations. Our vacation was wonderful & exceeded our expectations. I will definitely be using tis travel agency again! more

Top Notch Travel Agency 11/29/2011

I'm really sorry for the last couple of reviewers, but that does not match my experience at Legacy Travel. I called their office not knowing what exactly I wanted, but I told them what I like and they recommended a couple of vacations. I went ahead and booked a trip to Mexico at the Eldorado and had an absolutely magical time. I would never have chosen this vacation on my own and I am thankful to the folks at Legacy for helping me. more

BOOKING NIGHTMARE! 5/11/2011

I never write reviews but I felt that it is appropriate to warn people about Legacy Travel in Plano, TX. I planned my wedding and honeymoon through Marty Boehlke. When we first met with Marty he swayed us to stay at a beautiful resort (which it was). Our rate was going to be gauged on how many people booked with us at this resort. We had 20 friends and family attend the trip. No need to get travel insurance according to Marty as he was going to negotiate that at the end. When the final bill came, we were given a discount of $9/person/night. With Marty promising to get us the best rate we found that our rate (with the discount) was higher than the other rates given to our guests. We all had the same type of room. He confused my fianc? at the time with his dad who was a Sr. and changed our travel dates without our knowledge. We discovered this a week before we were leaving. This could be an honest mistake if we hadn't already told him three or four times there was a Jr. and Sr. He had made the mistake before confusing my fianc? and his dad. Marty also continued to think my brother-in-law was the groom and booked his travel on the wrong dates as well. My brother-in-law had to argue with him to convince him he wasn?t the groom. I was told later by my friends and family that Marty was rude and seemed inconvenienced when they tried to book their trips. Almost everyone had this issue. He called me the day before we were to leave to tell us of the dress codes for the restaurants which made our packing difficult and frustrating. When we got there, we found he misinformed us and it was unnecessary to pack half of what we did. There were also other issues involving the coordinating of our wedding that caused the wedding coordinator to book the ceremony at the wrong resort. This was later fixed by me. Don't get me wrong, the resort was a great recommendation, but the process it took to actually get there was a NIGHTMARE! All-in-all Marty Boelhke with Legacy Travel is unprofessional, ill-prepared and inept. They seem to do the bare minimum with intensions of never seeing you again. Save your money and time and choose another travel agent. more

Legacy travel- horrible customer service 2/4/2011

I have never written a review before, but felt I needed to in this case. I contacted legacy a few weeks ago for info on a vacation and spoke with Marty. I told him it would be a few weeks before we were going to book and I was just checking around. After reading several reviews about this agency, specifically Marty and Cathy, the manager I suppose, I did not have a good feeling at all so decided to go with someone else. Hearing from them today just confirmed my uneasiness. Marty called me back this morning to check on booking and while I was in the middle of APOLOGIZING to him for not letting him know I went with someone else, he hung up on me. I proceeded to call Marty back to let him know the reason we did not go with them was b/c of all the bad reviews on their cust service and how poorly they handle things and mentioned they may want to work on this. So, as you can see, this is the reason I wanted to write a review on them just to let others know that if you decide to use this agency you might just want to prepare for a few frustrations along the way, and possible issues with your trip...which is not anything we wanted to have to worry about with a relaxing vacation. I will say as well that we booked with American Express Vacations and they were wonderful, and the best price we found. Hope you find this helpful. more

DO NOT use this agency!! 1/24/2011

This travel agency is TERRIBLE! I had the misfortune of having to book my reservations through this agency for a wedding I was in that was located in Mexico. They overcharged several of the wedding party memebers. After several of us contacted Legacy from MEXICO all they did was give us the run around or didn't even respond at all. Please take my advice, DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY! more

Legacy Travel a touch of personal Service/personal attention 9/15/2010

I have just returned from another awesome vacation, planned by Legacy Travel, Plano, Texas. The staff were outstanding at finding a vacation that met all of our expectations. Though we live on the other side of the country, they are easy to work with, like they are just around the corner. I was able to get a better deal by using the travel agency and their relationship with the travel company. Once booked, our agent Marty contacted us personally throughout the next months, with last minute reminders and tips. Every last detail of the trip was executed perfectly and we had the assurance of Legacy Travel's support . Thanks Legacy Travel! more

Yay for me! 8/20/2010

I ready wrote about my vacation over on Google reviews, but then I found Citysearch so I wanted to leave a review here too. I had a great time with Legacy Travel on my trip this summer. I don't get to just take vacations whenever I want, so I wanted to make sure everything went smoothly. ...and it did! more

We Love Terrah at Legacy Travel 5/9/2010

We were referred to Terrah and Legacy Travel by a friend in 2007, not knowing exactly what kind of service to expect. My wife and I are very proud to say that Terrah has not only met our expectations, she has exceeded them, time after time! Terrah is honest, friendly, down to earth and you can really tell that she enjoys her job. She always goes above and beyond to meet our needs, which isn't always easy. Terrah is a true asset to your company, and we look forward to booking many more vacations through Legacy! Pros: Honest, Friendly, Down to Earth Cons: Sometimes takes a while to return phone calls more

Super Friendly 4/22/2010

I had visited another travel agency and was really surprised at how rude they were. I almost decided to just book myself online but I really didn't know anything about the resorts and I really wanted a professional opinion, so I googled one more time and found Legacy. I spoke with several of the agents there, Terrah, Marty and Leah. They each had been to some of the resorts I was considering so it was nice to get a first hand account. Anyway, the vacation was great and I love Legacy! (I left this same review on google also, just trying to be diligent.) Pros: Friendly Cons: Not open on Weekends..only open until 6pm weekdays more
