Lam's Garden(Closed Permanently)

My girlfriend and I went to Lam's tonight as returning customers. The food was very delicious but we couldn't finish it all so we asked for it in a to-go box. We paid and left. All was well, we thought. We came back to my place and later got hungry. We opened the to-go boxes and to our surprise their wasn't the amount of food we had expect, which was enough for another meal for 2 people. There was half a cup of soup instead of of an entire bowl, and there was literally one handful amount of beef with vegetables- there was supposed to be about a half a plate of it left. This never happened at any restaurant or take-out before. So what did they do with it? Eat it? Re-use it? And I paid for all that food too with a 20% tip! more

Lam's Garden is a restaurant on east Colonial, across from the Colonial Plaza shopping center. They serve very authentic Chinese food. My first visit to Lam's was with a friend who has a remarkably wide experience of Asian food. Another friend had said that he had found, finally, the place to get good Chinese food in Orlando. But when we went in, my friend was disappointed because the menu seemed to be the standard-General-Tso's-chicken range of options. Then he saw a restaurant employee crossing the dining room with a huge live eel in a net, and knew this was the place. He asked to see the "other menu," and has been a happy customer at Lam's ever since. If you want really authentic Chinese food, with dishes like eel, hot pot, and ducks' feet, check out Lam's. If you want more Americanized Chinese food, the American menu has got all the usual fast food dishes, and there's a reasonably priced lunch buffet. Watch out for the crispy wontons they serve as free appetizers; they're addictive. more
