Hola Mexican Restaurant & Cntn

Hola does have a good menu and most of the dishes I have tried there have been pretty good, but they ruin it with their lousy service. I have been to this restaurant on more than 10 occasions and it did not matter if the place was packed or completely dead, the service was lousy! This place has the worst service of any restaurant I have ever been to. They seat you promptly but that is the last attention you are given. Once the waiter takes your order you never see him again. Good luck getting a refill on your drink. On occasion they have forgotten to bring out part of the meal. I don't understand the popularity of this place. It is definitely not worth the aggrevation from the terrible service. Pros: Okay food Cons: Horrible service. Forget about getting your drink refilled. more

The only good thing about my dinner was my margarita, cocktail #2. The shrimp was dried out and bland. The first drink I had was suppose to be top shelf, tasted more like the bottom and my girlfriends sangria was like watered down kool-aid. The service was ok but he disappeared after we got our food. Stick to beef or chicken and you may leave sightly satisfied. Pros: close to home Cons: there is no flavor more

Not a bad place, we eat here about twice a month but NEVER on Saturdays or Thursdays. That is Mariachi night. They are a very talented group but waaay too loud for such a low-ceiling place. They would sound better, say, in the middle of a parking lot. Or if they lost a few of the trumpets. I don't like it when my eardrums bleed and you literally cannot have a conversation without shouting when they are within 15 feet of your table. It's not that the food wasn't good. It's just given the proliferation of Mexican restaurants in the Bay Area-- everything about the restraurant was marginal-- from the food to the decor and the cost in comparison to other great establishments was very high. It seems to me like this is a place that people go to be seen versus to eat. So-- if you're looking to pick up people go ahead-- but if you are looking for good Mexican food go somewhere else... more

This restaurant had the opportunity to serve happy clientele from another local mexican favorite that was forced to close down due to major rent increases. I'm sorry to say it has not filled the bill. The drinks, especially the Margaritas, are overpriced and over-iced. While the menu does provide interesting and new options, the food is typically ruined by casual and inattentive service. Like everyone else is saying...their Cadillac Margaritas are delicious and pack a punch. The food was excellent as well....the chicken mole is slightly spicey, and close to the best I've had. The more traditional fare is even better. Great service and atmoshphere! more
