Awesome 7/24/2009

My 2 yr old had to see Dr Freedman as she needed surgery on her eyes. I chose Duke from a list of about 4 other providers in the NC area. My initial appt was the intake and history. She took the time to get to know my daughter and he likes and was very cheerful and gentle with her.. (my daughter was not happy about being there and was somewhat combative) Sharon dealt with this in a professional and loving manner and was very good with her. I felt that she sis not just jump in and say surgery off the bat... she tried all other remedies before recommending the operation. On the day of surgery. She met eith us in the waiting room to say good morning to my daughter and then in the triage room waiting to be taken back she came in again and was talking to her and letting us know what we could expect. I was able to take my daughter to the operating room where all the staff was VERY CARING.. they called the anestesia magic princess perfume!!! and talked to her at a level she understood. \r After the surgery was done she personally came out to tell us our daughter did great. (I was a mess) the followup appt even went great. The waits are long to be seen I will say that but for the level of care and expertise and compassion towards especially kids I think this is second to none and that to me makes the wait worth it. the waiting room is full of toys for your child to play with so the wait doesnt seem to affect them that much.\r I WOULD NOT TRUST ANYONE ELSE WITH MY CHILD EYES!!!!!! Pros: Dr Freedman, Cons: Long waits and somewhat rude staff more

Most compassionate staff 7/14/2008

The most kind and compassionate lady prepared me for eye surgery. When I informed her that my veins are small and deep and roll and collapse and that after the first attempt to put the needle in fails, I become very woozy, ill and usually faint. She immediately was understanding, reached into her tray for her smallest needle, and then bowed her head to ask our Lord to help her do it right on the first try in order to spare me that ordeal. She did get it right on her first attempt. What wonderful treatment!! Pros: Wonderful staff and excellent doctors more

Highly recommended: Duke University Eye Center 6/5/2008

I, too, shopped around and selected Duke University Eye Center for my procedure. In fact, I've had several different procedures performed there by different doctors over the last 5 years. The physicians have all been professional, highly skilled, kind, caring and friendly. The staff members were the same, without exception. One man told me he has brought his mother to Duke University Eye Center for over 20 years and declared, ""This is as good as it gets."" He drives from his home in this area to the coast to get her and bring her to her eye appointment . Another patient told me her sight had been saved by a Duke University Eye Center physician. I would not go anywhere else. Pros: Excellent service more

Most compassionate staff for LASIK 10/1/2007

I ""shopped around"" before my proceedure, but I found myself at Duke Center for Vision Correction. I could not have made a better decision. Everyone from the front desk staff to the MDs could not have cared more. All of my questions and concerns were addressed. The doctor and his technicians were great! Some places make you feel like just a number, not Duke Center for Vision Correction. It has been over a year and I could not be any happier. I would recommend Duke to any and everyone!! Pros: Everyone cares about you. more
