Feast host BICYCLE TOURS ATLANAT 9/25/2010

Agreeing to host a progressive dinner tour is stepping up to a high bar. BICYCLE TOURS OF ATLANTA brought in 11 hungry cyclists to sample the best FEAST had to offer. The chef and staff stepped up to the challenge and surpassed our greatest expectations. Through a special agreement for this progressive dinner tour our guests were served with a sampling of 5 house specialties. Each was a delight to behold and wonder to the taste buds. The decor is cozy and inviting, FEAST is a place to linger through a great meal. The service was top notch, they got us seated efficiently, fed us in a timely manner and treated us really well. FEAST will be on our partner list for any future dinner tours in Decatur. more

Feast Resturant 8/26/2010

Most romantic restaurant! My husband and I spend all our wedding anniversaries at Feast. We love to sit at the bar in the winter, opposite the open pizza oven, eating great food and drinking wine Lovely warm atmosphere. Really nice, friendly staff. more

Wonderful brunch 3/15/2009

Had brunch for the first time at Feast today and it was glorious! The dish with the chorizo and eggs was amazing and the benedict that my husband ordered was unique and full of flavor. We decided to try out the all you can drink bloody marys and they are to die for!! We will be back next Sunday for sure!! Pros: all you can drink bloody marys! Cons: parking, no buscuits! more

Yummy 3/15/2009

We love to go to this quaint little restarant in Decatur, the food is always great and the atmosphere is cozy. It's always busy and the staff is super friendly. I sat at the bar and had drinks and desserts, the dessert sampler is super yummy! Even if you don't eat there i suggest coming for dessert, the lime pound cake was delicious! Pros: desserts Cons: parking more

A great place for a party 3/14/2009

I recently attended a shower for a friend at Feast and while we had a wonderful time and the server tried her best, I had the feeling that Feast wasn't prepared to serve a large group. The food was good, not what you would expect at this type of event, service was decent but disorganized. The restaurant was a bit busy and they seemed to be short staffed. The plates were mixed matched and there were no utensils for cutting our cake. The flowers looked cheap and the hostess was pushy. Again, we had a nice time but I think it was because of the company we were in and not the reataurant!. I would think twice about having my shower there. Pros: large space, attentive service, reasonable prices Cons: inexperience with large parties more

Best Pizza in town 3/14/2009

I'm new to the area and was in search of a place to make new friends, grab a bite to eat and seek shelter from the cold rainy night. I found all of that at Feast! The steak pizza was original and fantastic, beer list has a unique selection and the bartender is warm and hospitable. It's hard to find a true neighborhood restaurant anymore and I think that I have found a true gem. Ate there for the third time this weekend and I have yet to be dissappointed. I look forward to dining there again and hope you do the same! Pros: food, friendly service, great pizza Cons: parking, noisy kids more

Great food - Great atmosphere 3/14/2009

Ate at Feast for the first time this past Friday night. Had such a memorable time. Our server (Greg) was top notch! He was so friendly and knowledgable. The calamari was the best we've had in Decatur. My husband had the steak special , which was cooked perfectly and I had the salmon, cooked on a cedar plank. FANTASTIC! For dessert we shared a bread pudding, OUT OF THIS WORLD! The wine suggestions were perfect. We will be eating at Feast again and again! Pros: Service, food, ambience Cons: none! more

I am a regular 8/3/2008

I go here regularly..in winter I sit in front of the oven at the bar; in summer in the backyard. The wines are very reasonably priced.20 under $20...the best white is the Chardonnay/viognier mix. The feast small salad is always good...it has slices of pear, pecans, gorgonzola. Currently my favorite entree is the scallops with couscous. The planked salmon, cooked well-done for me, is always reliable and healthy. I do not eat steak so I cannot respond to the steak criticisms. The menu changes with the seasons. I have not really liked the lobster risotto. I have liked the pasta dishes. People rave over the roasted chicken but I eat so much chicken at home, that I cannot bring myself to order it....I usually do not have room for dessert but they do not do too much with the desserts..I have had all of them over time..I think the bread pudding is about the best one but this is not their strong suit. They are also great to me...I do not go on the weekend but do go on thursday nights when it is not too crowded. My service has been good but sometimes they will be slammed...a reliable friendly place to eat. more

nice relaxing meal 4/12/2008

This was our first time eating here, but it came highly recommended from a friend. The ambience is very nice and being a nice evening we chose to eat on the back terrace. After reading some of the reviews I was concerned about the service, however we had a great very attentive server. We did go at a non-peak time ( 5:30 on a Friday) and the restaurant was not crowded, so that may have contributed to the good service and prompt delivery of food. We had the blue crab and artichoke appitizer with pita chip, which was very good. We also had the olive mix, good but overpriced given the number of olives you get. I had the fish specical which was great and my husband had to ribeye- good but a little overcooked. Desserts looked good but we were too full. As others mentioned , they do have a nice selection of resonably priced wines. Pros: wine list prices, ambiance, service, valet parking Cons: food quality not consistent, more

great food - fits decatur perfectly! service is unpredictible, but still worth a try. 2/9/2008

I have eaten here dozens of times and will continue to go back. I have recommended it to many people! So far - every time I have been I have had a great meal. There are a few things on the menu that are just fantastic and I will go out of my way to get them - the mushroom chips, for instance. The pizzas are light and flavorful with a wonderful chewy/crispy crust and have just the right amount of toppings. I also loved the squash ravoli special. I have to agree that service is spotty at best - we have had a couple of very good attentive/frendly/speedy ones, and then a couple that acted like they were doing us a favor by waiting on us. Believe me - if I could just go and get it myself, I would have! One saturday brunch, there was almost no one there, but it took 15 minutes to get our drinks (water, coke) and 30 to 40 minutes to get our lunch! (pizza, sandwich)! good thing my friend and I had a leisurely day planned and wanted time to catch up anyway....still though, the food was worth waiting for if you have the time. I think the prices are more than fair as well! you can pay a LOT more and get a LOT less (quality and quantity) in other Atlanta reataurants! Pros: great food, good value for $ Cons: spotty service more

Feast is the Opposite of Least! 2/1/2008

Rare is the occasion when I can be lured away from the soft pleasures of nestling in front of ""Grey's Anatomy"" with my miniature Chow, Mr. Beeswax. But when visited by an old friend braying for delicious eats, time then to change out of my kimono and explore the streets of Decatur. Initially, the plan was to sample The Depaux, a converted train station now steeped in Cajun cuisine and poor spelling. A cursory glance of their menu, however, warned that even the tiniest meal would lead to gastreax surgery. They fry everything! Any sufferer of a salty bloodstream mustn't consume a meal that might lead to oneself being placed in the doggie bag! more

Not worth going to. 12/29/2007

I wouldn't go back. Just acceptable slow untrained service. VERY GREASY STEAK. Atmosphere is nice. After having our appetizers just a minute a food runner tried to give us someone else's dinners. Even if the dinners were ours, it was very unprofessional of her to try to give us meals when we had just started our appetizers. She walked away asking other tables if the food was theirs. Pros: atmosphere Cons: bad food, bad service more

Simply Unbelievable... 10/27/2007

Going to a restaurant can be a hit-or-miss affair, and going back to a great place where you experienced awesome service and sumptuous food is even more dangerous: if it doesn?t live up to the bar set by the previous visit, both the new meal and old experience get tainted. We went back anyway. My wife and I so enjoyed our visit last year that we decided to roll the dice again and see if we could get it duplicated. Pros: Stellar Service, Great Food, Warm Ambiance- Genuine welcome feeling... Cons: Nah. more

Best meal in Decatur, if not all of Atlanta 8/24/2007

I have never eaten at this restaurant before and was invited tonight by my inlaws who eat there often. After a fabulous evening I returned home and was so delighted in my experience that I looked the restaurant up online. I was guided to citysearch and dissappointed to see another review oviously written tonight by someone who had the exact opposite experience as us. We arrived at 8:30 pm and the building was filled to the gills! We were seated promptly by a very friendly southern belle and greeted quickly by a beautiful young blonde server who was glowing with a smile and warm friendly attitude throughout our meal. We ordered a very good inexpensive bottle of wine and appetizers to share which came out slowly, but understandably so as the restaurant was so busy. We took this time to truely enjoy the company at our table. I would highly recommend the prosciutto wrapped figs and antipasto plate! Our entree's were delivered within reasonable time and absolutely delicious! Try the scallops, bistro steak with chimmichurri and mashed potatoes as good as your mama's!!! My husband had the filet mignon special which was out of this world! The most tender, perfectly cooked peice of beef we have had outside of Texas! Our server was quick to suggest another bottle of wine to pair with our entree's and she definitely knew what she was talking about. Desserts were so so, the key lime pound cake being our fav on the dessert sampler platter. I am so glad we were invited to such a special hidden treasure of a restaurant. We had a wonderful time and will return again and again. Pros: very romantic, great deals on wine, outstanding food, valet, beautiful patio Cons: noisy children, poor desserts more

What a Disaster 8/24/2007

From the moment we walked into the door, rudeness and lack of service. After being barked that our table was not ready by the hostess, we were seated, and the place is lovely. Our server never once recomended anything, and it took forever to place an order. When the salads came out, I was given the wrong salad, and had to wait to have mine replaced, and then the starter we ordered never made it to the table. Our entrees were good, but generic, and we were offered free dessert by the manager because of the salad and starters probelm. My boyfriends steak was undercooked, and by the time our server made it back to the table to check, it was half cold and half eaten. Once we received our free desserts, The check took forever to arrive, and then after waiting 15 minutes to have her run our card, I took the bill to the bar. The manager half heartedly appoligized on our way out. I would rather eat somewhere else for the price!! Pros: Ambience, nice patio Cons: Service, average food more

A Feast Is Alive In Decatur! 8/19/2007

First of all, I'm not an employee or owner. Just a foodie that's looking for the next good meal. And we found one here. We were going across the street to a new place in the old train depot, but they were not open. Looked across the street, and saw this glow. And smiling faces sitting in the window. Good sign. No reservations, and the hostess was too nice. Perfect table in the middle of the room. Loved the glow of the woodburning oven. We started with an order of the crispy Calamari, with fried onions, lemon, jalapenos, and roasted poblano aioli. That went so fast with a great bottle of wine, under $20.00. On to the very fresh Caparese Salad of tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, basil, and evvo/balsamic. Great with the little corn muffins, hot from the oven. Our server was on his game, and his suggestions were perfect. A Vegetable Ravioli with fire roasted tomato puree, sauteed shrimp, and grilled ratatouille. Excellent combination. And we also split a Garlic, Lemon & Herb Roasted Half Chicken, that was very moist. This is one Feast of a joint, we could stumble onto anytime. Pros: Warm & Romantic Atmosphere, Creative Dishes, Good Prices! Cons: Could Eat Here Everynight! more

Smooth Sailing 8/13/2007

We loved it! The waitstaff was friendly, management was friendly, and the ambiance is awesome. The look of the restaurant itself made me want to try it out. The food was delicious! And in such an area where parking is now a fight, they have valet parking. We sailed in, had a fun dinner, and sailed right back out. Fun night! Pros: Food, Service, Valet Parking, Patio more

Better than expected 7/13/2007

Based on some of the other reviews I was hesitant to try Feast. However, a friend and I decided to give it our own review because we are always looking for places to have a nice dinner and relax in the Decatur area. more

Best in Decatur 6/18/2007

Feast is by far the best restaurant in Decatur. They offer a beautiful, intimate setting both indoors and outdoors. The menu selection has a good range and they offer unique dishes, but do not try too hard to make them ""different"". Specials are usually fantastic - although I highly recommend the pizza, especially the Margherita, it's very authentic. The wine selection is spot on as well - the 20 bottles for $20 has a nice variety that can please almost everyone. Try the Albarino! And don't forget about brunch on Sundays - fantastic! The staff is the nicest in town and are always very accomodating and good with recommendations. I have never found them to be pushy. My only complaint is that the food is not always perfectly consistent. I have run into a problem with items being overcooked or undercooked on occasion. A little quality control in that area would make Feast the perfect dining selection for any occasion. Pros: Ambience and service Cons: Minor inconsistencies with food preparation/presentation more

Expected More... 4/12/2007

We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice. We received our drink order quickly and were pleased with what we received. The wine was good for the price and my boyfriend's martini was exactly as he ordered. We started our meal with an order of olives and the mushroom chips. The mushroom chips with gorgonzola dip were very good except our order consisted of A LOT of broken little pieces and not many full mushroom slices. If there were more slices it would have been fantastic. The olives were nothing special. My boyfriend's restaurant gets the same olive mix but they doctor them up with additional spices and lemon zest and they are delciious. These were served as is and were pretty boring. Pros: Very cool space Cons: Food is mediocre at best more
