I'm new to the area and was in search of a place to make new friends, grab a bite to eat and seek shelter from the cold rainy night. I found all of that at Feast! The steak pizza was original and fantastic, beer list has a unique selection and the bartender is warm and hospitable. It's hard to find a true neighborhood restaurant anymore and I think that I have found a true gem. Ate there for the third time this weekend and I have yet to be dissappointed. I look forward to dining there again and hope you do the same!
Pros: food, friendly service, great pizza
Cons: parking, noisy kids

...is having the Brick Store as your neighborhood pub. Yes, the beer selection is fantastic. Let's not slight that. How wonderful is it to walk into a pub and have over a dozen beers on tap -- and none of them of the Bud or Coors variety? Brick Store gets beers that few else in Atlanta can serve, and they are served in the correct glasses. (There's also an enormous selection of bottled beer, but that's not my own preference.)
Then there's the food. No, it's not gourmet. But it's much better than the usal pub food, and it's consistently prepared well. Fish and chips; burgers; sandwiches, a couple of salads. That's what you get here -- and that's all you get. But you know what you are getting -- and you'll enjoy it.
But what I appreciate most about the Brick Store is the staff. You would think this group of indie-twenty-somethings would sneer at the parents and kids, the old and the not-so-hip who come in. But no. They are, quite simply, one of most accommodating waitstaff around. (Including the staff at places that are supposed to be family friendly.) I've been going to the Brick Store for years, and this has been true the whole time. My hat's off to the person who hires them.
Being at the Brick Store will make you want to live in Decatur, if only so you can walk home after having one pint too many.

Brick Store is one of my favorite places. They always have a number of new beers I want to try and I can always find something good. I've never had a bad experience here and the wait has gotten better since Leon's opened. I also really like that they have some pasta options that go a little above the standard pub food. I don't think you will find any place in the Southeast that can match their beer selection.
Pros: Beer, Beer and Beer

I think the chocolate bar is a great experience. What gets me the most is their martinis-hands down some of the best I've ever had. The mix drink list is amazing-I've tried a good variety of them and I haven't been disappointed yet. The drinks are mid-high price but worth every cent!

We haven't been to Sage in a couple of years. We went back recently and were thrilled to discover that the very talented Chef has taken the helm as the new owner! What a difference! The lamb entree was perfectly cooked, as was my wife's feature of steak diane with deviled crab. The dining room has gotten a much needed facelift, making the room feel much lighter and brighter than before. The wonderful homemade desserts are as good as we remember and, I hate to say this, but we were so happy to not have the (previous) owner lording over our table with his tales of woe. This has gone back to being the great little neighborhood bistro that we loved, and we'll definitely be back!
Pros: Great food, beautiful ambience, fantastic service

I love this place. Unlike the "chef's right" dude, I like places with character; and I find the staff engaging, not a bunch of monkey trained nimrods that give answers to the questions they are trained to answer (aka, corporate, cookie cutter, no risk bars). I own a competing restaurant but had to respond to this review because of the type of person you are . You go into a place and expect a server up your --- ASAP and to stay there until you finish your two Stella Artouis and 6 waters, (yet I know you wait 45 mins in line at taco ria del sol then rave about how great the service is).... and then complain about your $6 hamburger. Have fun at Hoolihans and get an extra order of fried jalapeno poppers on me. Oh, and I checked into it and the stucko was added to the building in the early nineties, so next time don't comment on facts you know nothing about. -- Fat Pete
Pros: its got character and great food
Cons: i don't work there

Love a good burger? Then try one from Twain's. Twain's has the best burger I've had in a long time. And I LOVE a good burger!! Made to order and cooked perfectly, it comes served with the usual lettuce, tomatoe, onion, with additional toppings available (mushrooms, jalapeno peppers, etc.). The sweet potato fries are also fantastic -- served by the basket, they are crisp and served piping hot. Also really, really good are: The beer, of course!! They brew their own. The French Dip - LOADED with meat and cheese; the Cuban Sandwich - grilled to perfection; the Wings (their medium is pretty hot!); the Hummus (spicy); and the Greek Salad - generous on the feta and real kalamata olives. The restaurant itself is a huge bar and billiards room, with additional arcade and darts areas. The long bar probably seats 20 people, and there are 2 TV's usually set on sports. Go on a Saturday afternoon and sit with Bartender Sarah. Sarah REALLY knows her beers, and is an interesting character, with her long black braids and big black rimmed glasses. A total hoot!! Service is always great. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food served, and the atmosphere is very pleasant (non-smoking).

Eddie's Attic focuses on one thing, and it does it well. That one thing is not the food, which is mediocre, and not the bar scene, which is conducted in whispers. It's all about the music, and almost exclusively acoustic music. Eddie's sound quality is superb and the venue has rules which encourage the audience to listen, and most people abide by that. It's known as a place where local music comes to get discovered, and if you go to one of the numerous open mike nights, you'll see the next John Mayer or Indigo Gal wanna-be. But on the weekends Eddie's will usually have a headliner and charge a modest cover. Most of the music is folky, singer-songwriter stuff, but I've seen an electric show. I also saw a great classical cellist there. I love the fact that people go for the music, not to be seen, so you can be casual. And the place is full of small tables, so you'll get a seat unless the show is a sell out.

i love that the priority at eddie's is the music. they do everything in their power to make it the best environment for listening to the world's best acoustic music. people who don't want to be cramped or told to not talk loud or told to turn off their cell phones, etc should not go - if you are looking for an upscale bar experience, don't go. if you want to go somewhere to meet people or catch up with friends and have some good music in the background, don't go. if you are looking for a funky hole in the wall, with plenty of character, to actually listen to good music without a bunch of distractions, you should check it out. the servers and owners are going to defend the environment first and serve the customer second, so don't expect anything different. if that bothers you - perfect, don't go, those of us that enjoy this place don't want you there.
Pros: it's all about the music baby
Cons: sometimes draws customers who don't understand the pros

My family has been going to Melton's for years and we find it consistently good. It is very family-friendly, but in a low-key way. My kids say that Melton's mac n cheese is the best anywhere. The staff is friendly and many of them have been there for years. The food is good and there are always several different beers on tap. There are a couple big screen TVs for watching sports. It is just an easy, neighborhood spot that won't cost you an arm and a leg.
Pros: Hot chicken sandwich, beer selection
