I had a wonderful experience. Jerry was very accomodating with my schedule, since I am unavailable during normal working hours. He also did a wonderful job adding a few accessories to my new 1911. I would definitely recommend Far West in the future. more

Stopped by several times, being indecisive on which firearm to buy. They seemed to not mind me fondling 3-4 guns at a time. They were patient, respectful, and kind. Would recommend shopping here. Those who say they are rude - it must be the past employees more

Having dealt with many Gun Shops and Armorers over the years, I'm a retired Army Ranger and a Gunsmith myself, I find Jerry Payne and his staff to be consummate professionals.Their knowledge and selection of high quality firearms and accessories would rank among the highest on the west coast. This attraction brings some of the top shooters in the world to the shop on a regular basis. The ensuing conversations are often opinionated, but invariably entertaining when viewed with a considered eye; not for the weak of heart. If you have an interest in firearms and all associated intrigues I recommend Far West Guns. more

I couldn't disagree with the other reviewer more. I've done business with Far West for over 10 years. The excellent service they've provided me keeps me coming back again and again even when they aren't the cheapest game in town for the particular item I'm looking for. They've always been helpful and welcoming, even if I was only dropping by to say "Hi" and talk shop for a few minutes. Even if I didn't by anything, they'd often urge me to drop by again soon. The service at the other Santa Barbara gun stores pales in comparison more

Great service 11/15/2010

I was looking for a specific handgun awhile back and could not find it locally so I asked one of the guys if they would call me if it came in. Took some time but I got a call that it was in, went down and took my handgun safety cert test and paid for my gun. After the waiting period went and picked it up. Ive noticed if its busy it make take some time to get helped but most times ive visited the service was good. Walk it and say HI make eye contact and keep it simple. more
