If you're a member of the early baby boom set, this is definitely a magical place. It might not have been intended as such, but in this shop Christmas seemingly extends throughout the year. Unlike the department stores of years past which took down their train displays and stopped stocking accessories and supplies by mid-January, the trains run every day of the year in this shop. Well, they do take Sundays off during most of the year. I've been to a few train shops which might be as well stocked, but at Eastside Trains customers can actually find what they're seeking. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable without being intrusive. I have never asked a question they couldn't answer. Nowadays, I go mostly for the Lionel O-gauge, but they seem to have pretty much everything a model railroad enthusiast might desire.
