I've been to Wolfgang Pucks twice now for dinner and love walking around afterwards. Its very lively, big and bright. . . lots of shops and activity going on. A little more laid back than citywalk of Universal. Pros: active, lots to see/do, not too expensive Cons: no rides here! more

Best Thing To Do as a Local... 8/7/2002

My family and I always go to Downtown Disney. It's a great place to shop, eat and party..Even if you have little kids (like my lil sister) it's a safe and fun place to go. If your older its always fun to hit Pleasure Island at nite, the clubs are awesome. I like the amc movie theatre too, and Planet Hollywood is the best restaurant there...I also went to a few concerts at House Of Blues and its just a great place to go if you have a few hrs to kill before going home... Pros: Planet Hollywood, DisneyQuest, Pleasure Island Cons: Parking sometimes bad more

Because Downtown Disney is based on offering stores to meet everyone's interests, there is a lot to see and something for everyone-even if you just want to window shop or dream,...there sports, toys, housewares, collectibles, clothes, christmas/holiday stuff....a lots of FOOD! Pros: various stores, lego sculptures, FOOD! Cons: stores=$$$ more

Great food, scenery and shopping! 8/7/2002

I am an Orlando native and I love going to Downtown Disney again and again. There is no end of things to do here! Pleasure Island is geared for nighttime entertainment. There is no better movie theater than Pleasure Island's AMC. And there are many great restaurants like Wolfgang Puck's and Bongos, and other attractions like DisneyQuest and Cirque du Soleil. There are also nightclubs for the single crowd. Adjacent to Pleasure Island is the Downtown Disney shopping area, where there is every fun shop imaginable, all centered around a beautiful lagoon. There is a Lego store with huge Lego sculptures in front of it (including a Lego sea serpent in the lagoon). And there are endless stores for Disney toys and apparel, Christmas ornaments, jewelry, and so on. There is a great candy store with delectable fudge, ice cream and other goodies. There is also a riverboat restaurant. more

Great Place for BOTH Locals & Tourists 7/18/2002

My family and I live in the Orlando area enjoy going to Downtown Disney whenever we want a taste of WDW without paying the $50 per person admission. There are plenty of things for the kids to do: cooling off in the sprinklers during the daytime, hanging out in the Lego playground, etc. Try this: Go to the bake shop on the second floor of the Virgin Megastore. Get yourself some first rate pastries and sit on the adjoining balcony which gives you a great view of Downtown Disney. Pros: Free!, Kid Friendly Cons: Can get CROWDED more

Suburban urbania 5/20/2002

It's basically a fun, safe spot that offers nightlife for tourists and locals that don't want to be in a truly urban, downtown setting. Clubs, restaurants and entertainment in a well-maintained, well-secured area. more
