The Dino Clark Salon gets and ""A"" in my book. Stylist, Christine Fields, is the salon's crowned jewel, in my opinion. Because of Christine's exquisite stylistic expertise, and her fun-loving disposition, I have been a loyal client for 15 years. I always leave the salon feeling as if I had the combination of a good therapy session, a few relaxing days at a spa, a fabulous afternoon out with an old friend, and a beauty transformation worth flaunting! Christine has the artful gift of being able to look at her client and instantly assess the style and color that will best enhance his/her physical features and personality. She is constantly staying up to date on the latest trends, while still responding to those of us who prefer classically beautiful styles. If I had a dime for every compliment that I have been given with respect to my hair, I could have retired at the age of 30. I have been seeing Jordana Lorraine at Dino Clark for years now and I love everything about her, the salon and all the stylists there! The environment is friendly and fun yet at the same time very professional. The salon immenates a laid-back feel without pretentiousness or arrogance that I have experineced in other high end salons. \r My cuts and color are always great and my stylist is prompt and available when it comes to scheduling!! \r I would highly recommend Dino Clark to anybody!!! A friend recommended Dino Clark Salon after a color disaster at a ""celebrity salon"" left my hair in horrible condition. From the very first phone call to Dino Clark, I knew I was in good hands. The receptionist patiently listened to what I needed and wisely recommended Jordana. Such a blessing! Jordana is not only very talented in cutting and coloring, but also does a superb job with extensions. After my first visit, it was abundantly clear that Jordana is a perfectionist and I trusted her implicitly. It's been over a year now, and after many visits and always leaving feeling like a million bucks, I have had Jordana put in extensions three times and she does so with precision. After seeing plenty of botched jobs in this town, I can honestly say people are shocked when I tell them I have extensions. Jordana does a magnificent job with matching the color and placing and cutting the extensions. Beautiful work! In a pinch, I have also worked with other stylists and not surprisingly, they did a great job as well. It is also worth mentioning that the salon in general is a fun place to visit. From the owners to the assistants, everyone is very personable and it nice to experience such a friendly low-key vibe but still receive high-end service. I truly look forward to each visit!! more

I've been going to the same stylist at Fred Segal forever, but was having one of those ""my hair is making me crazy"" days, so, working in the neighborhood, I decided to pop into Dino Clark without an appointment to see if they could accomodate me for a spur of the moment trim. To my surprise, Frank Dino, one of the owners of the salon, was available (due to a last minute cancellation). I simply cannot tell you how glad I am I popped in that day! (It must have been fate--truly.) Frank recommended both a significant style and color change. Just wanting a trim, I wasn't exactly prepared for a big change and I was a little nervous about going shorter (as in A LOT shorter) and darker, but something told me to trust his instincts. Am I EVER glad I did! FRANK GAVE ME THE BEST HAIRCUT I HAVE EVER HAD. HANDS DOWN. Frank's instincts were, in fact, DEAD ON. I feel and look beautiful. The short hair highlights a bone structure I didn't even know that I had. The darker color (a deep chestnut brown) makes my blue eyes stand out like they never have. My friends and family tell me I look 10 to 15 years younger than I did with my old cut. Strangers regularly approach me on the street and ask me who does my hair. This haircut has literally transformed me--and, to the extent that a haircut can--has changed my life. Not only do I look younger and more vibrant--I feel that way, too. It was the best $190 ($95 cut/$95 color) I've ever spent. All I can say is ""WOW!"" That, and ""THANKS!!!!!"" Pros: Extremely skilled and friendly staff, great atmosphere, superb value. just had my hair done and had to comment...So great! my stylist Amy has apparently been in the biz long enough to know the perfect approach to hair dressing. i look fab. i wasnt sure what i wanted and without cutting or changing my hair color very much, i look like a new person. pretty cool. \r i was referred to the owner Dana, who is supposed to be a genious colorist, but my schedule did not permit so i got Amy. Worked out great, i highly recommend her. not only a wonderful stylist, but she has a great sence of humor and pleasant attutude all around. ill be back in a month. more

This is a unique salon. It projects a stylish, comfortable and efficient flow of energy.. Upon arriving and checking-in with desk staff, a relaxing shampoo awaits. They are open late several nights per week (call) which is an absolute necessity for me. They maintain a full stock of excellent hair care products.\r \r I've been having my hair cut at Dino-Clark for many years and I've never had a bad experience. When I started going to Dino-Clark it was called Allen Edwards. Frank Dino and Dana Clark acquired the salon when Edwards left Santa Monica. Dana is Sassoon-trained. It shows in innovation and attention to detail. She freshens her skills every year or so at Sassoon London. Along with fresh skills come some great travel and fashion tips. Her engaging, entertaining banter will make you feel like a life long customer. \r \r Other clients tell me that Dana is one of the best colorists in Los Angeles and is frequently tapped to adjust or match hair color for film shoots. Several other stylists have cut my hair and I've always been happy with the results. People notice my hair. I'm happy to recommend Dino-Clark to friends and associates.\r \r The salon has a great mix of people -both clients and staff. This mix permeates the atmosphere which is neither 'over the top' nor stodgy. Since I usually get my hair cut at night, the vibe tends to be mellow yet energetic. Music is loud enough to be heard over the dryers but not so loud as to intrude on conversation. \r \r As a businessman, one thing that always strikes me is the lack of turnover both in staff and clientele. I see the same people over the years. This speaks volumes to the quality of work. Prices are reasonable. \r \r There are a number of excellent restaurants and businesses within a quick walk. As another noted, Dino Clark provides an hour of parking in the garage but if you are having a lot done or decide to visit other businesses, pay the flat fee. \r \r Excellent haircut - a pleasant experience in general. I have been going to the same stylist, Jamie B, for many years now and have never been disappointed. The salon has consistently updated their look and has never felt outdated. It's really a great place, and reasonably priced compared to so many comparable salons. more

I went into Dino Clark for the simplest haircut. I had been letting my hair grow out for over a year so that I could have long layers. My male stylist ruined my hair and over charged me for the service. Over all it was a horrible experience! I would not recommend them. more

I have been a client at Dino Clark for over three years and have visited a number of the stylists there. I recommend the salon to all my friends. The staff is very talented, whether you are looking for something funky and trendy or a classic cut with soft natural highlights. Miakel is great for funky and fun cuts and color. He also does an amazing blow-dry/style. Massimo is great for more classic cuts with harder lines, such as a bob or long, unlayered cut. He also does an amazing flat iron job. Adis does a great cut and color. Downsides: Street parking is limited, but there is an underground garage. If you are getting color put on, be sure to pay the garage the flat rate (I think it's $4) before your appointment. Otherwise, you can rack up a parking bill. Dino Clark Salon is the BEST salon I have ever visited. They have very talented stylist who make you look and feel like a million bucks. I would recommend this salon to anyone who needs a new look or a self-esteem boost. more
