Dino Clark Salon

I came to California with a friend in March, 2011 to help her cope with the death of her brother. I was fortunate enough to get to stay for a month, which just so happened to be the month of my birthday. As a gift, my friend treated me to a day of shopping, in Santa Monica. We just stumbled upon the Dino Clark Salon and went inside to check it out. We were really happy with the service we received while inquiring, so we made appointments for the following day. I didn't have a clue who I wanted working on my hair, I just told her that my best hairstylists in the past have been men. She made me an appointment with Adis, and she couldn't have made any better recommendation! He was absolutely wonderful! He made my visit to the salon something to write home about! He foiled, washed, cut and styled my hair, and I have never left any salon as satisfied as I did that day! As a matter of fact before I headed back to the East Coast, I had to find a reason to go back there, even if it was only for a wash and style. Never in my life has anyone done my hair, and sent me away longing for more! I recommended him to my friend and she was totally impressed with him as well! My color and cut were amazing, and when he used the blow dryer on my hair, it looked as if he had used a flat iron. I loved it! It is now mid May and I have returned to California and will not leave before having Adis do my hair. If at all possible,no matter how many miles I must travel, I will never let another person touch my head! So to anyone out there considering a new salon, Dino Clark is the one! And as much as I would like to keep him all to myself, Adis is amazing and I'm sure you will leave there with beautiful hair and a smile! more

Jordana has been cutting and coloring my hair for about 5-6 years now. She is amazing at both. \r \r Jordana put in my first set of extensions about 4 years ago and I have not gone back. I have very fine, thin hair which is impossible to syle without the extra hair. Jordana's extensions look completely realistic-They are so well done that no one knows and when I tell lthem, they cannot believe how natural they look. \r \r Extensions are not just for celebrities and the rich and famous. I have seen many reviews which say how great Jordana is-I echo those feelings. She is professional, prepared, and always on time-a rarity in my experiece. A terrible nightmare of a cut led me to Kristen Gaby at Dino Clark, who I read was a wonderful fixer, a miracle worker, and she absolutely is. I think she has a laser beam eye for shapes and how hair falls and can immediately see what's wrong and how to fix it. My hair now looks so pretty and it falls just perfectly and feels great too. She takes the kind of hair you have into account and that makes a huge difference. Plus, she's an absolute doll of a young person and enjoyable to talk with while she's making you look your best. I so highly recommend her. I went in looking like a sad mushroom and came out feeling fabulous and human again. Thanks again Kristen! Tal is amazing!!! My eyebrows were pin thin when i first met Tal, she helped me grow them out into the best shape they've ever been, i never thought they could look this great! Been all around L.A and she is by far THE BEST!!! more

I drive from Beverly Hills to Santa Monica just to have Dana Clark do my highlights. Why? Because Dana does the BEST color. Period. I have spent considerably more money at Beverly Hills and WeHo salons in order to save myself a drive and some time, but it's never worth it. Dana's color is always spot-on and beautiful. People are always commenting on how beautiful my hair is, and they never know that i've had it ""done"". They think it's my natural color (which it used to be, but not since my 20's!). The bottom line for me is ALWAYS customer service. I have done my time with ""celebrity"" stylists, and have paid exorbitant amounts of money to be treated as though I was lucky to be there. I always feel welcome and at ease at Dino Clark. They listen to what you want, and always try to accommodate your requests. Pros: Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, reasonably priced more

Before Brazilian Blowout and Jordana, I had fought with my frizzy ""Jew-fro"" hair my entire life, but couldnt be bothered to blowdry and flat-iron all the time. So I lived with poufy hair, getting salon blowouts on special occasions. Now I can get the smooth, shiny look on my own with minimal effort, and that is so my style! Thank you Jordana! Kristen Gaby is a miracle worker....i sought her out at the recommendation of a friend for a MAJOR fix of a \r very pricey haircut gone bad. She took a hair disaster and turned it into a hairstyle that brought my confidence back. i walked in feeling gloomy and walked out feeling like the best version of myself. Even if you already like your hair, trust me, she will make you love it!!! Not only does she listen, but she hears.....thank you Kristen!\r more

I am very particular about my hair and have always had trouble finding a good stylist--I think I've tried every salon in Santa Monica by now! Anyway, I finally went to see one of the owners of Dino/Clark, Frank Dino on the recommendation of a friend who always has a great color and cut. I walked out with literally the best haircut of my life! I couldn't be happier. Highly highly recommended! I should also add that it only cost me a hundred bucks which I thought was surprisingly reasonable. I won't be going anywhere else. Pros: Best haircut of my life Cons: None obviously more

I recently tried a place near my house and when I went to work with my new stripy highlights, my boss ""subtly"" dropped her girl's card on my desk. After looking at her website, I decided not to wait and I emailed Miss Jordana Lorraine right away (very cool that this is an option). She wrote back promptly and asked a few questions about my hair before booking me in. It made me feel like she cared about getting it right, not just getting me in. No big surprise: my hair looks awesome now! Better than ever! \r \r She entered all my info in her Blackberry so I know she won't be guessing next time, and even checked back in with me a few days later, to see how it was working out. GREAT SERVICE! Pros: great service, great color! Cons: hard to find, no store-front on street more

jamie at Dino Clark Salon has been cutting my hair for five years now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. If she stopped cutting hair I would probably just let it grow and stand outside her house and whimper. she does a fantastic job and for the occasional emergencies she has gone out of her way to make time for me, staying late or coming in early. The service has always been friendly at DC and the salon has a lovely selection of teas. more

This has been, by far, the worst service I have ever received at a hair salon. I was getting married, and booked a trial run for my hair at this salon. I drive 40 mins to get there, and then the person they booked me with tells me he doesn't do any kind of up-do's or styling hair--only cutting. That should have been my first red flag. So, I rebook my trial. I show up, and she doesn't even finish it and I pay $70!! Second red flag. Then, on the day of my wedding, I went along with my bridesmaids. One of my bridesmaids was yelled at by the stylist. He told her he ""didn't do up-do's and he didn't have time for this!"". She had to wait 45 minutes for someone else to do her hair. By that time, we had to leave to meet the makeup artist, so she had to stay at the salon by herself, and take a taxi to meet us later!! Also, 2 of my bridesmaids went home and redid their hair because it looked horrible. Additionally, I (the bride) was not happy and had to touch up my hair as well! It was an absolutely horrible experience. The salon only has 1 person who really does up-do's, but they will book you with anyone, just to book you--so I caution going here, especially if it is your wedding day!!! more

I have been seeing Dawn at Dino Clark for over a year now and I will never look back. I was so loyal to my previous girl that I drove to Orange County from LA for over 7 years!!!! So, I consider myself to be a very particular client until I was referred to Dawn by a friend. Since she has been cutting and coloring my hair I have been getting non-stop compliments. Some people that know me don't recognize me. My hair has been healthier than ever and she gives me great tips on what products to use and how to style my hair. I can't say enough about her talent. She takes the time to understand what I want and she always does an impeccable job. Not to mention that she is a great person to talk to. Every experience with her makes me happy to give her my money because it is worth every penny. Go and see her, you will not regret it!!!! more

Every time that I get my hair done by Frank Dino, it's just delightfull!! Frank is just the real deal. My hair looks just great: hair cut, color; everything!!!\r It took me 4 years here in LA to find a great stylist. I'm not going anywhere else.\r The atmosphere is great, everybody is very friendly and professional. And the products are just fantastic.\r If you're looking for satisfaction garanteed, go to Dino and Clark salon. more

Well the truth is, my hairdresser moved to another place and I am a loyal client, but I always liked it when she was here here so as long as I'm tooting her horn I thought I'd give them a nod too! Dino Clark is relaxed and fun, the owners are there working and are very busy stylists themselves. No attitude, just a nice clean place with good hairdressers and a friendly staff all-around. Pros: parking, friendly staff, relaxed Cons: some staff a little ""too"" friendly. oh and my favourite person is gone :-( more

Jamie b was first recommended to me by a friend who had curly hair that ALWAYS looked great! when i asked her for her secret...she told me about Jamie! that was over 9 years ago! Not only to i get consistanly great cuts the color is fantastic...and I not only look great in the salon...jamie's magic cuts make them easy to style at home so i look great all the time! I have to look good...i work in fashion...and jamie makes sure that i have a look that is both ultra hip and classicly beautiful! I have had all kinds of lengths and styles bangs no bands long and at the shoulder...i go through phases where i want to look the same...and then others where i want something new...but the truth about jamie's styling is that you always look like YOU! and you always look great...recently...i have been keeping my hair long and dark brown...and having just had the roots touched up...and cute bangs for summer...a friend said to me...""i never knew you colored your hair..."" she thought it was just naturally richly brown...so i told her my secret...if you want to have great hair...all the time...short, long, natural, hip....if you want consistant great cuts and color... curly or straight...look up jamie b...she's great! One luxury I've had the hardest time finding was a good hair stylist... until I met Jordana Kotlus (and the rest of the DIno Clark family). Jordana is always professional, on time, efficient, passionate, caring and attentative. For every color and style I've requested, Jordana delivered with precision and a smile... in the past I've experienced many stylists trying to talk me out of what I've wanted and/or ignore my special instructions. BUT Jordana has always kept her mind, ears and heart open. I felt very secure on all my many styles because I have received numberous compliments on how great my hair looked. I am a very happy with Jordana- she has always made me feel welcomed and special. Also... if you ever need a glamorous blowdry I highly recommend Cesar... big bouncy hair is the best accessory!
