I recently discovered Monsoon and I am now a regular customer. Their happy hour is fabulous - everything on their set menu is $4 during happy hour (they have 2 happy hours - one early and one late). The sushi is great! It's always exceeded my expectations. The service is ok, but not great. Sometimes you kind of have to grab the wait staff as they zip by, but for $4 rolls and $4 wine, I'm not complaining.

I live not to far from the La BOA. i took my friend who was wearing nice short to eat. we checked to see if it was ok before we let them park the car. as we were waiting for our table they told us we could not eat there. i would never recommend that place. i called BOA Santa Monica and ask if shorts were ok they said no problem. we drove over and the lady held a table for me so he could get severed right away. The food was amazing.. along with the staff.

Jiraffe is a great place to go for several occasions. I have had the most amazing food there and have enjoyed different, yet all pleasurable dining experiences. The ambiance is relaxed and not at all suffocating like other fine dining places. The service is friendly, and very attentive. Overall, however, what wins you over is the food. Generous portions and fresh seasonal products offered in various creative dishes makes you want to go back again and again. Monday Bistro menus are based on Farmers Market finds and are new each week- a steal at a prix fixe price of $38!!

One of my two favorite restaurants in California. The other is in Sacramento. We've been dining at Melisse since it opened 10 years ago and it just keeps on getting better. The room is classy and the staff taks pride in presenting and finishing at tableside the excellent dishes that come out of owner Josiah Citrin's kitchen. The sushi and sashimi is fresh and attractively prepared. The server kept up with our ordering pattern, but seemed a little distracted (overworked?) and it took a few reminders to keep the drinks coming in concert with the food. In general, I would give the thumbs up for taking a date or a small number of guests -- nice interior, very clean, professional service environment without the uptightness of nobu. it is more fun that ocean ave seafood (also of excellent quality, but a very predictable American experience).

i went here a couple of weeks ago and just got to writing a review....i went here just to see how great this deli is. it ends up being a little italian grocery store very cute. and the deli section is where you can get your sandwiches. my mother is a pastrami fanatic so i mainly came for her. she loved it her favorite was the fresh bread and the hot pepper salad in the sandwich that made it unique. i got the potroast sandwich it was hot and juicy and they give you alot. the price is good too. for $8 you will not be hungry for the rest of the day! i would love to try everything on the menu
