My daughter has taken lessons at Dance Rhythms for several years. She's had a very positive experience. The teachers are caring and highly qualified. I've never felt that the teachers "had favorites." All of the teachers are adults and most are college educated with a background in dance or musical theater. The studio has 3 rooms that they use to teach classes. Two of the rooms are very spacious and the third room is small. I disagree with Connie - the dance company is not chosen based on how many classes the students take. My daughter only took tap and was in the dance company for tap. Many of the girls take multiple classes (ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, etc.) The girls who take multiple classes have more opportunities to participate in more areas of the dance company. That doesn't mean they were selected just because they "take a lot of classes." They have two ladies that work in the office. One is the mom of a teacher and the other is a teacher. I agree that the website isn't up to date but you shouldn't judge a business - especially a dance studio - based solely on their website. A website can't tell you how the teachers treat the students or if they yell at the kids or if the students are learning proper technique or enjoying their classes. In order to judge a dance studio you need to go in and visit the studio in person and see for yourself. I don't care that they don't have an updated website. I want my daughter to be taught by qualified teachers and that's what we've found at Dance Rhythms. They have a very active Facebook page that gets updated all the time. You should check their Facebook page, not the website, if you are looking for information. more

I am very sorry we did not meet your needs! I am not sure I understand how you can know whether our students know the basics unless you actually sat in on a class. I would encourage anyone to actually trya class before making assumptions , as well as talking to customers in the lobby. Hopefully you found another studio to meet your needs! more

Went in to get info for my 7 year old daughter. Tiny rooms on the second floor up a narrow stairway. Watched an older group (about 13 y/o or so?) was told it was an advanced group. I was shocked that they couldn't even do basic things. Told the front desk lady thanks but it wasn't what I was looking for. more

Yes, it's the dance company. DON'T USE THEIR WEBSITE! They have a facebook acount, you can just contact them from there. more

This dace place is the real thing. The website isn't updated, I do agree, but kids learn stuff there. Students learn things there better then most people do at other places. \r \r I'm not an instructor or anyone who works there. \r \r I've been to quite a few classes there. I know how it is. I know some of you haven't. So why are you writing a review on it anyway? more

Remember that competitiors can anonamously write reviews too. The ability to rate a business is nice, but as long as people don't have to give their real name, they don't have to worry about their honesty either. At Dance Rhythms we would like to speak with you in person. Call or visit and find out who we are and what we are about. Yes every business will always have a disgruntled customer, but with the internet they can "reign supreme" when it comes to badmouthing a business. Walk in, look around, ask the parents throughout the building what they think, then make up your own mind. Let us be your recreational dancing studio (yes we have adult classes too). more

This studio doesn't care about the kids. They only care about there favorites. They don't tell you if your kids are doing well or if the need to imporove. more

I wanted a dance studio close by for myself and family member so I checked out the site. No new info since 2003. No new class info, no working contact info, no working links to information. Class scrapbook is over 5 years old as well. Doesn't appear the studio is still open for business, or maybe just doesn't want new students. If the owner/operator can't get someone to update a website every 6 months, then maybe they don't have a business worth bragging about. Just my opinion. This is the day of shopping on line and if this is the best they can do they're losing out. We have taken from this studio from day one and love it. I always ask how my children are doing and always get a straight forward answer. That is exactly why we like it because we are always told what to improve upon. Love all the instructors!!!! more

I'm looking for a studio for my girls, but the website hasn't been updated since 2002 - no profile regarding instructors or what they have to offer. Why even have a website? Looks very unprofessional, makes me question what kind of business you run. Plenty of other studios here in Indy and I can get almost every question answered by their professional and updated site!\r \r I'll keep looking more

KEEP IN MIND THAT EMPLOYEES/OWNERS POST REVIEWS! Truth, this studio has ONE instructor that actually has a background in dance education. There is only one who is "DEA Certified" which means absolutely nothing in the dance world. No technique is taught, they focus only on "having a good recital". They mark up the costumes so that they make a hefty profit. They promote themselves as having a "performing arts company", however, it is basically to sustain their studio. They do not choose the company members based on talent, rather on how many classes they take. Lots of drama and "diva" attitudes. (The studio owner has threatened to drop the PAC if it doesn't improve) The front office staff is basically parents who get free/discounted classes for working in the front. My family has been taking lessons here since it opened in 2000. We been treated very well as if we're part of a bigger family. The teachers are very experienced and are always looking for new steps and teaching methods to improve on already great classes.\r The owners are always striving to make sure we offer the different types as well as quality classes they and the students and their families want. They offer classes for people from age 3 through adult. We have taken and are taking Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop.\r We love this dance studio and I'm sure you would too! more
