The Bisuteki is actually closed for renovations right now. When the hotel went under to change from a Radisson to a Courtyard by Marriott the Bisuteki closed down too and has yet to reopen. It may open in the future but right now its doors are sealed. more

It is my favorite restaurant. It has got great food. They cook right in front of you and they have got great tricks that they do to keep interested. It is alway fun to go there for dinner. They have got a good assortment of different types of food like steak, shrimp, chicken and sushi which is great. It is nice that you can look out at the Charles river. Pros: great food, good enterainment Cons: location not so good. more

I haven't found many Japanese steakhouses in the Boston area. Bisuteki was average as far as Japanese steakhouses go. I had the filet, which was the special of the day, and it was good. Despite making a reservation, we had to wait until there was a group that could fit with us at a table. The vegetables were pretty salty, and there weren't any optional sauces available (like a hollandaise style sauce for my beef). The entrees for our table were ready at different times, which was odd, and a little awkward. The waitress didn't refill our drinks or bring us silverware, although we could luckily all eat with chopsticks; the reat of our table wasn't as lucky. It's pricey for what it is, but if you're in the mood for Japanese steakhoues your options are limited. Pros: Covered free parking, feastlike portions Cons: Salty, poor service, pushy hostess more

Tasty Food - Entertaining People Watching 6/13/2006

I have been to "many" Japanese restaurants, including international ones, even in Tokyo and Bisuteki in Cambridge is really good. One thing I have noticed is that most Japanese restaurants like this don't have really responsive service, but one thing that can be said for this one is that it is consistent and predictable. I have eaten here about 10 times, evertime making a reservation in advance, and I have always gotten a seat within about 10 minutes for tables of 2 or 4. Some people like being entertained while they eat, and yes, these chef's don't have a plethora of tricks, but they do make really good food and if you can bear with the language barrier, they are very accomodating to requests on how you want your food cooked. It is a very busy restaurant, and I was somewhat skeptical when I read the other posts here, but I am thinking that they have improved their system and the "customer service". Another nice thing is that on Saturday nights they have complimentary valet! Someone also made mention of a bachelorette party...this place would strike me as a cool place to have a party like that...I unfortunately haven't seen any during my visits...but I really enjoy the variety of people you tend to sit with at your table. Some people are nice, some aren't...some are loud, some aren't. Overall it is in fact my favorite place to eat...I usually eat "wayyy" too much and go home stuffed. Sometimes on a weekend, when I make reservations, I will ask them when they have a free spot open for my group. This way I know that they aren't doubling me up with another group. By the way, when they cook the shrimp, they don't make any fire...this is because of the City of Cambridge Fire Dept. (so I have been told) won't let them! (The one in Revere MA is also very good). Pros: Parking, Tasty Food, People Watching Cons: Sometimes hard to get more rounds of beverage. more

Disappointing compared to similar places 5/31/2006

I've been to other Japanese steakhouses across the country, and since this was the only one I found in the Boston area we tried it. Boooo. The chefs all seemed bored and didn't want to entertain anyone. Even my 8yo, who LOVES Benihana was disappointed with their lack of "show". Food was okay. Waitstaff was not attentive and seemed to rush us. Our reservations said 7:30pm, we were not seated until 8:10pm. The worst part of our meal was a group of drunken girls in bachelorette party mode, sitting at a table nearby. They were loud, obnoxious and throwing out expletives near our table with 4 young children--- and not even an attempt by the waitstaff to quiet them down. Guess I'll save visiting Japanese steakhouses for when I'm back in Texas, San Francisco, or Hawaii. Pros: closer than flying to, another state but, not worth it Cons: chefs boring/no show, wait time w/ reserva., surly waitstaff/rush more

I went to Bisuteki and did not eat Sushi, but ate meal with steak and shrimp. The chef who cooked the meal in front of us was obviously bored and, in turn, boring to watch. The food itself was salty and unimpressive. Spend your money elsewhere. more

At first glance, Bisuteki seemed like it would be a fun experience. I couldn't be more wrong. I had a party of 4 with reservations for 8:30 and didn't get seated until 9:30. The waitress kept telling us 15 more minutes and began to get rude when we kept asking when we would be seated. come on, we had reservations, we had the right as customers to keep asking when we would be seated. the food ended up being ok and our chef wasn't that entertaining. He also couldn't follow directions. I asked him specifically for my steak to be given to my date and he said "no have a few" and proceeded to put a lot of steak on my plate. I wasn't too happy about that. I wouldn't recommend bisuteki to anyone. Pros: sushi Cons: service, service, SERVICE more

I don't believe there is another hibachi place in town, so I tried this one with a few friends. The food was average, comparable to any other typical hibachi. But the habachi chef pretty much put on no show at all and we were very disappointed. We went home unsatified, and I would not recommend it. Pros: Easy Parking more

Service needs to improve 2/8/2004

We had a reservation at 7.30pm but waited until 8.20pm to get to our seats. The hostess keep telling us it's only a 15 minutes wait, and she told us that 2 times. In addition to the long wait, the waitress was also very rude. One of my friend told her that he does not need ice water and told her to take the water away. She just replied that, " can you just leave it there!" They really need to improve on their service. Pros: fun dinning expreienc, good parking Cons: , long wait more

My husband and I have been here many times, the food is great! On Sundays kids eat free! That was a great surprise! We have 3 kids and they absolutely love to go here, the best part for them is watching them cook the food right in front of you. This place is a definate must to try atleast once, you will become addicted! more

Yummy food, high prices 1/21/2003

I love eating at Bisuteki. It is greasy but that's what makes it so good. Don't go expecting "real" Japanese cuisine, but do expect good taste. The only drawback is that it is pricey. All meals are around $20+ which is a lot for a kids type atmosphere. Pros: good food, great taste, entertaining Cons: pricey, fattening more
