Nice steakhouse in Kirkwood 3/30/2006

Most people would not even know this place existed if they did not live in the Kirkwood area. It is definitely one of the best steakhouses that I have been to. Service has always been excellent, and the food cannot be beat. The steaks are always great and cooked exactly the way you ask. The chefs here know how to cook a steak and they do it properly. Side items are also fabulous. Prices are typical of a steakhouse. Overall, you must try this place if you are a steak lover. more

Absolutely perfect 8/19/2005

My wife and I just had the best steaks we've ever had. She had the filet, and it was huge. The side was the red potatoes with onions. I had the medallions with mushroom burgandy sauce...there were two medallions the size of two normal filets. My side was the garlic mashed potatoes. The steaks were succulant. We couldn't even speak. I recommend reservations. We sat at a table in the bar because we didn't have reservations, but they served us like we were royalty. The vinagarette dressing on the salad was fantastic. The service was prompt and professional. Highly recommend for that special dinner. I would say this is one of the best places to go in St. Louis more

Best Steak in St Louis! 8/16/2005

It starts with the steaks, but just about everything is Great at CK's. It's a family run steakhouse in Kirkwood and it plays off the movie theme complete with a Rosebud sleigh on the front porch. Any cut of steak you order will be tender and perfect. They also offer an excellent porkchop and garlic mashed potatos that melt in your mouth. The salads are great but they tend to offer a hearty selection of soups that are hard to pass up. If you are even remotely fond of soup, you should give it a shot if the soup of the day sounds good. The dessert selction is also terrific and they have a pretty good wine list. The appetizers are not the most impressive feature of this restaurant but they're alright. more

Great steaks, great atmosphere. 8/15/2005

If you are looking for a great steak place in St Louis, this is one of the finest. The steaks are top notch and at a price less than some of the other top steak places in town. Atmosphere is warm and romantic and service excellent. Only minor complaint I have is that some tables are squeezed in places with scarcely enough room for people to walk past comfortably. But small trade off to experience dining in a converted historic-style house in the downtown kirkwood area. more
