Children's Museam of Maine 4/6/2006

What a great place to take your kids! It is very education but they don't even realize it because they are having so much fun! THey have a mock grocery store, a fire station and much much more! Your kids can run free, make a mess and you can leave it there! Its a great deal. Prices are very reasonable, and you can even get a membership for a set price to get unlimited visits. more

Great place for little ones 8/20/2005

I visited the Children's Museum of Maine with a group of 3 and 4 year olds. They had a splendid time. The Museum has several different areas. The kids seems to gravitate to the supermarket section of My Town. Both girls and boys alike enjoyed it. There is a huge variety of plastic foods and cash registers for the kids to check out at. The price of admission was something minimal like six dollars per child or something like that. This is a great spot to spend the morning, afternoon, or entire day with the kids. It is especially great for those rainy Maine afternoons. more

Let Children Expand their Minds 8/19/2005

The Children's museum features many things from a lobster boat, to a supermarket, that tallows the children to go through and explore in order to learn. The Museum also has science exhibits, that help the children learn about the natural resources of the State of Maine. The Museum also has a dress up theater with stage and costumes, miniature planetarium shows, daily art, science and multicultural programs. more

Kids love it 8/17/2005

Our son had a great time when we visited the museum. He was a bit younger then and he was able to go into the baby/toddler section and explore that as well as all the other displays. He especially liked the outer space displays and the "pretend play" areas.Parking was no problem as there is a parking garage almost right next door. The prices are also reasonable. There is a store too but we didnt go in there. more

Children's Museum (Fun) 7/28/2005

Wow! What a fun place. Apparently, many others in Maine think so too, because it's often rather crowded. Regardless, it's worth it. The admission fee is reasonable, and season passes are available. There are many fun things for the kids to do there, such as the pretend grocery shop, firetruck, and many other learning activities/fun zones. It has several floors, and it would be easy for a small child to get lost among all of the people, so close parental supervision is needed. They do have a little snack bar that's nice, and they have a play area there, so it's a good spot for the adults to take a break. Two main caveats: there is no parking, so expect to pay at a local garage. It's also not easy to find, even though it's located in dowtown Portland. more
