Yankee Lanes offers large pin bowling (as opposed to candle pin bowling) and a lot of fun. They have a nice variety of ball sizes for those who don't own their own and well maintained lanes. Scoring is done by computer, and one that keeps better score than most that I've seen. Gutter bumpers are available for those with kids (or those who just can't bowl...) and there is plenty of seating around each lane. Yankee Lanes has a bar and concession stand, if you order something that takes a while to cook they'll even bring it to your lane for you. There is also an arcade with several video games, pool tables and an air hockey table. If you're looking to bowl on a Friday or Saturday night stop by for Galactic Bowling where you'll find black lights, strobes, a dj to keep you entertained and plenty of bowling extras to add to your experience (be prepared to pay more and wait for a lane though).

I visited the Children's Museum of Maine with a group of 3 and 4 year olds. They had a splendid time. The Museum has several different areas. The kids seems to gravitate to the supermarket section of My Town. Both girls and boys alike enjoyed it. There is a huge variety of plastic foods and cash registers for the kids to check out at. The price of admission was something minimal like six dollars per child or something like that. This is a great spot to spend the morning, afternoon, or entire day with the kids. It is especially great for those rainy Maine afternoons.

The Racket and Fitness Center has extensive fitness options. They have top quality indoor tennis courts, racquetball courts, and cardio equipment. The weight lifting options are top notch. They offer other types of sports such as Wally ball as well. The location is wonderful and very convenient. Prices are higher than average, but so are the facilities.

Riverside Golf Course has a rare twenty-seven hole layout. The layout of the course is very wide open. The course is challenging. This is the sight for most major tournaments in the area. It can be difficult to get a tee time due to popularity and the busy calendar. I would highly recommend this course to any serious golfer.

More
Most flights begin near sunrise or just before sunset when the wind is lightest. We fly seven days a week all year, weather permitting. A typical flight lifts off from a launch site in or near Portland and lasts about an hour. On a typical flight we will climb high enough for you to look out and see Casco Bay, the islands, the Lake Region, sometimes even Mount Washington. We fly low enough to touch the trees, talk to people on the ground, occasionally touch the balloon down in a stream or a lake. At the end of flight, we have a beverage and snack, and give you a ride back to your car. Call for more details.
Cost: $225/person.
Reservations: Our Season in 2005 will run from July 15th until September 30.

I took a whale watching tour with a group of friends on the Casablanca Cruise lines. It was an all day affair. I had never been whale watching before. Obviously some people on board had never been on a boat, as many were seasick. The crew did their best to take care of those who where not feeling up to par. The captain was great at pointing out the small whales and local sites. I highly recommend a tour on Casablanca Cruises!
