I used to go to Dr.Zappia in high school (years ago) so when I was in search of a new dentist I called his office and the receptionist was so nice and so friendly.He is very nice and explains things in terms you can understand.The only bad thing about it is that it's a 50 minute drive for me to get to his office. Most of the hygenists are very nice also.

Maine Med is a super hospital. I gave birth to my son there, and was hospitalized 5 days b/f he was born. I stayed in the AnteNatal unit, and would not go anywhere else. All of the staff I encountered were excellent. The parking lot is small, and often, you must wait a few minutes for a space to open up. I beleive the cost for parking is around $2 per hour.

My husband and I stayed at The Eastland Park Hotel for a company Christmas party. The event was fine. The rooms were ok. We got a discounted rate because of the party. However, I probably would not stay there if I had to pay full price. The rooms were a little dark and dingy. They were not dirty, just a little run down. Apparently there are nicer rooms in the hotel. We were just the unlucky ones who ended up in one of the older rooms. The location cannot be beat to downtown Portland. The staff was very courteous.

This is a teaching hospital and has mostly a wonderful staff. When my son was hit by a car a few years ago even tho we were 40 mile away I told the ambulance drivers to go to Maine med and they said ti was the only one they would consider for head trauma because they are the best. This hospital is well known for being a top cardiology hospital, head trauma hospital, and for its top notch childrens wing funded by Barbara Busch herself who visits quite regularly. When my pregnancy with my twins had many complications, no one else would I entrust the safety of these angels to more. They have some of the best doctors in the state working with them and offer many services for all types of ailmanets. emergency room visits are sometimes a little longe than the other hospital in the area, but that is because so many trauma vitims are brought here because they are the best at what they do. I trust no hospital more completely with the lives of my loved ones.
PROS: caring, modern, and most qualified staff
CONS: high emergency room wait for minor emergencies

Excellent physician in Portland. She's very warm, friendly, and a sympathetic listener. You don't get the feeling that she's in a rush when you're sitting with her. The waiting room is large, open, and comfortable, and the office staff is nice. This is one of the few offices I've been to where I'm not waiting a long time for my appointment in the waiting room. Parking is not a problem; there's a free parking lot right next to her office.

I've been to see this doctor twice for two different medical needs, and I found him to be very professional. He listened carefully to my concerns and tried to find a reasonable solution. However, it did not result in a resolution, thus I am giving him 4 stars instead of 5. The office staff are polite, there is a pleasant waiting area, and parking is ok.

There are not too many pediatric eye doctors around here so whenever we have an appointment with Dr.Berman we always spend alot of time waiting yet only a few seconds with the doctor.I always feel as rushed through our appointments but I suppose that's because there are always so many people waiting.The waiting room is great fun for kids-especially little ones!
There's plenty of seating and it's always very clean.
I have to say that within the past year I have noticed that appts are going much faster and feeling less rushed! Hooray!!!
