If you're prepared to spend more than $1,000 on a wedding dress, this is the place to go. If you want something strapless, spaghetti strapped, or halter, this is the place to go. In other words, if you want to spend a lot of money and look like every other bride, come on in. The staff will help you out and you can even browse around without an appointment (more than I can say for David's at the mall). Just be prepared for sticker shock. Now, if you're looking for attendants' dresses, this is the place to get them. They have a great selection and the price is not outrageous. Mother of the bride, forget it. Not much of a selection at all. Andrea's does a great job of adding to the wedding hype. My daughter's wedding is in ONE WEEK and the shoes that have been ordered 8 weeks ago still aren't in. They prefer to "deal with the bride" when the bride has stated that she's delegated all responsibility to the maid of honor. They're not following the bride's directions. Andrea's is definitely on the bridal band wagon and successfully adds to the wedding hype that isn't really necessary at all for a lovely wedding.

I have always had excellent experiencse dealing with Minott's. I have had them deliver flowers about four times in the last year, and each time the recipient has been pleased and the order has been delivered in a timely fashion. Plus, their customer service is great. I have had other florists laugh at my requests, usually to have an arrangement for around $40, but not Minott's. They will work with my (limited) budget and make it look fantastic. At this point, they're my go-to florist in Portland. Thanks!

I have been making my own jewelry at Caravan Beads for years. They have classes that teach jewelry making. The staff at Caravan Beads is always extremely helpful. They have moved in the last few years from their smaller shop to a much larger shop on Forest Avenue in Portland. It is a great spot to bring kids. Prices are all listed so you don’t have to guess what the cost of each item will be to you. Highly recommended for a novice or expert jewelry maker.

D Cole Jewelers is the perfect jewelry store. They have a beautiful selection of jewelry, ranging from thousand dollar engagement rings to $20 turquoise earrings. There is sure to be something for everyone in this store, both in style and budget. Their showroom is bright and well lit and the cases are attractive and interesting to look at. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. D Cole designs all of their own pieces and their is on the premise, you can even watch the jewelers at work through the large glass window connecting to the show room. For such a unique selection of items their prices are very reasonable.

Without a doubt Videoport is my favorite video store in the world. It eclipses Video Underground in Jamaica Plain, MA. I like it better than any little indy store in New York. I love Videoport because of many things.
First, the staff. They are amazing. They will give you advice for movie to watch that are always completely spot on. I think you have to be psychic to work here. Second, the selection. It is mind numbing. You could watch a movie every day for 3 years and not see all of them. I’m sure of it. They have the best selection of cult classics I have seen in the Northeast, and just about everything you can think of is here.
The store used to deliver locally. This was a big bonus for me!
All in all I have to say this store rocks!! Even though I live in Boston, I still occasionally rent movies here on my way to my mom’s house and then return them on the way back to Boston.

I have used Sawyer and Company on several occasions. The staff is always very friendly and they are willing to work with me to get me exactly what I want. Their prices are comparable to everyone else in the Portland area. However their arrangements are far superior to other florists I've used. I would highly recommend Saywer's for any special occasion.

I've never felt compelled to write an online review before, but after shopping for an engagement ring for my fiance at D. Cole I felt I had to share what a good experience we had. When you walk into the store you immediately notice the quality of their work. I would describe my fiance's taste as simple elegance (I may be biased there) and she immediately saw several pieces she loved. Prior to this, we shopped at several other jewelers and we had trouble finding anything she liked. The next thing you notice is the helpful, relaxed atmosphere created by the owners and their staff. Each time I came into the store, I spoke with the jeweler who was going to make the ring I would buy. He was showing me wax moldings of new designs he was considering and spent a lot of time educating me; even encouraging me to look around at other jewelers in the area! Afterwards, I realized why. His work is equal to the quality of other high end jewelers in the area, at half the price! I can't say enough about this jeweler and will absolutely return in the future.

We scoured the internet searching for a feminine classic engagement ring without prongs (hard to find). Most online companies advertising rings that are sturdy and safe for everyday wear display jewelry that looks clunky, sporty or common. So we were thrilled to find Cross Jewelers elegant active wear settings. The gentleman who worked with us was extremely helpful and took the time to teach us about stones so we would know how to proceed. (Ultimately chose sapphire rather than diamond) They sent the ring to Del Mar for inspection in a lovely wrapped box with satin bow, we returned it for sizing a few days later, and got the ring back in about a week. Splendid long distance transaction

My husband and I purchased a puppy here three years ago. He is the best dog. He is a cairn terrier named Kingsley. He was so easy to train, lovable, just an all around great pet. The only problem was that hes allergic to all foods so we have to have him on the vet food, which is very expensive. He's totally worth it. Thankyou so much for Kingsley. He's truly wonderful --Carol
